Mallory Adamski is a Diné (Navajo) woman on her life’s journey to lift the voices, resilience and knowledge of Indigenous peoples around the world. She is the Director of Communications and Advancement for the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, which advocates to end violence against American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian women. In her role, Mallory also serves as managing editor of Restoration of Native Sovereignty and Safety for Native Women, a publication dedicated to informing tribal leadership and communities of emerging issues impacting the safety of American Indian and Alaska Native women.

A LOOK BACK AT TOKYO 2020 + THE WOMEN WHO WIELDED POWER THROUGH STYLE
The extent to which Olympians in Tokyo have used apparel or style to articulate who they are and what they stand for is incredibly meaningful. There is power in what they choose, and choose not, to wear. Their apparel is a rejection of hypersexualization, objectification, an assertion of what they need to succeed, command of bodily autonomy, and commitment to navigating the world unapolgetically.

Haute Volée Rebecca Mehra traveled straight from her gritty performances at the Olympic Trials (where she finished 11th in both the 1500m and 800m overall) to Europe to continue racing. There’s no fairy-tale ending here, but if you read to the bottom, it’s better than a fairy tale.
