Putting an End to my Bikini Drought

Putting an End to my Bikini Drought

I hadn’t bought a new bikini in seven years. Not for lack of trying. I couldn't find one that fit right. But I figured that I only swam a couple times a year. And even though I was uncomfortable while on the water, always tugging on the suits or moving slower to prevent wardrobe malfunctions, I thought it was OK. But I didn’t realize how much summer fun I was missing out on.

Roga Swim: The Story Behind the Style

Roga Swim: The Story Behind the Style

Style

They say the heart of innovation is cross-pollination; combining the unexpected, borrowing from one area and applying it somewhere entirely new. In fact, one of our greatest moves in product design, was using a fabric we originally spotted in a board short, in the swim + surf world, into a pair of running shorts. And so the Roga was born.

RogaSwim_blog-image1.jpg

Over the years, we also saw a lot of our teammates, friends and customers, wearing their Rogas, Mac Rogas, and the whole Roga family as swimsuits. Why pack a suit AND running clothes, when you can swim in your shorts? It works in a pinch, and clearly the fabric was up for it. This fabric was destined to return to swim and summer and salt water - and so that's exactly what we did. Introducing the Limited Edition Roga Swim Collection.

RogaSwim_blog-image2.jpg

It starts with this amazing fabric. A stretch woven that also has a very high percentage of spandex. So even though it has all the body we love in a woven knit, it still moves and stretches with you... sitting, walking, swimming, running, gently moving closer to the chips and guac. Yep, all the options.

  • 4-way Roga Stretch Woven
  • Chlorine + abrasion resistant
  • Color-fast, resisting UV fade
  • Rich, bright colors + prints
  • Premium quality and long lasting

The style makes the suit. And these two pieces are both vintage and modern.

The Roga Bikini Top - is a pullover style that provides for your just-right fit with an easy halter tie at the back neck. From small to larger cup sizes, the design is both supportive and versatile. Better yet, rock the top with high waisted tights or jeans and a wide brim hat. Just add sunscreen.

The Roga Bikini Bottom - is high waisted, providing great coverage. The leg opening curves up, but also doesn’t creep and crawl. The wide banding at the waist and leg is both a design detail we love (accentuated when it's reversed), plus it helps the suit stay put.

RogaSwim_blog-image4.jpg

Two times the fun when it’s reversible! With the exception of the Saturday, which stands alone, the other colors are reversible to either a print (Black Diamond, Poppy Diamond) or another solid. Finally, meet two new colors to the family: Cinder (a soft, smoky blue) and Pine (a deep, PNW-loving green).

Thank you for your interest in Roga Swim! A special note is that these styles are part of our Fabric Forward Program that reduces fabric waste at the factory. As such, all sales are final and we are not able to offer returns and exchanges for these two pieces. For questions on fit, follow along with the first #AskBrenda Insta story on @oiselle, or per usual, don’t hesitate to reach out to hello @. Head up, wings out — and happy almost-summer!
