The Olympic Trials Track and Field Championships (as we call it, #totallytrials16) are just around the corner! Four weeks away to be exact.

Two weeks ago a few of our Haute Volée tore up the track at Hoka One One Middle Distance Classic with amazing races from Kate Grace, Dom Jackson and our steeple crew. Kate kicked it off in the first heat of the 1500m with an impressive final lap bringing her to a 4:05:65 win, and a PR at that! Dom Jackson raced aggressively in the 800m, snatching an automatic Trials qualifying standard (her post-race recap here). In heat two of the steeple we went 1-4 with Jamie Cheever, Shalaya Kipp, Marisa Howard and Mel Lawrence. Collier Lawrence improved on her season's best in the steeple. Also, an unexpected development in the first steeple heat was an Olympic Trials qualifier by Volée member, Alex Wilson!
Finally, just this past Friday at the Prefontaine Classic, Kate Grace finished 2nd in 2:01.16 to Alysia Montaño in an impressive 800 meter field (watch here on USATF.TV).

Where does this leave us now? To date we have 14 women qualified for the Trials in Eugene!

Who else is chasing the Trials Standard? Rebecca Tracy was so close to the 1500 meter automatic standard of 4:09:50 last weekend as well with a great race in the 1500m finishing in 4:09:75. To secure her spot in Eugene she needs to run only a tad bit faster! She will be racing this Thursday at Festival of Miles in St. Louis and then Portland Track Festival with a handful of her Haute Volée teammates:
