O-MAZING STRIDE SHORTS
Made from our Plya Compression (popularized in Spandos Capris), this go-to compression short is made of interlock fabric, known for being lightweight, compressive, and very soft/smooth. Its unique knit structure also prevents sheerness. The Birds Everywhere print is yarn dyed so there is no white yarn show-through. Our 360 waistband pocket goes all the way around, and is ample enough to hold everything from keys to fuel to a phone.
- Plya Interlock (polyester / spandex)
- interior drawcord
- 360 waistband pocket
- 4.75" inseam (all sizes)
I'll admit it - I was skeptical at first. And then I wore them on a really hot morning run and they quickly became one of my new favorite shorts!
I can fit my iPhone 11 in the waistband pocket (along the back seam), plus a gel, a car key, and my ID. They don't fall down but the legs do ride up a little bit at the start of a run, but once they've reached an ideal spot on my thighs they stay put. I describe the texture as being like a swimsuit. The more I wear them, the more I enjoy them.
I bought my usual size 2 and they fit perfectly. I'm about 5'1" and weigh about 110.
Comfortable. Fit great. What more can I say?! For reference, I bought a size 4, and I’m 5’2” and weigh 125.
These shorts are fabulous! Did 14 miles in them and they did wonderfully! The surrounding pocket is perfect for gel! I am 5'2", 115 pounds and got a size 4. These fit perfectly!
I wanted to love these. I am an athlete and have former gymnast and sprinter quads that I’ve also spent a fair amount of time cycling. I really wanted to love these. I put them on and they looked good. I ran .03 miles and had to stop and fix them. I thought maybe once I warmed up and was a little sweaty they would stay in place so I took them on a mile warm up. I went back to my house changed into a pair of Roga shorts and kept on running. I think if they had some type of grip or around a leg openings that would help. Also the seam in the middle of the booty was quite uncomfortable. Super bummed.
Was obviously sucked in by the fun snap/empire color and decided to take a chance on them; I'm a size 8 in the pocket joggers, but ordered these in a 10 because I was skeptical that they would accommodate my thighs. They snuck up a little bit during my first two miles, but then settled (and stayed put) right around a 3"ish length for my last four, which was fine with me. I'm only 5'2", and I was never worried that they would creep enough for my butt to start hanging out. Ideally, they wouldn't move at all, but what can you do? Also, the material definitely gets sweaty, and the light color shows it. I probably wouldn't put anything heavier than my car key or a gel in the pocket, but that could be because the waist is a little loose for me.
I love the bright color and birds and after seeing these shorts all over social media I was excited to purchase them on sale. Unfortunately I’m not sure I’ll be keeping them. Without being too graphic, the crotch area is just not flattering - the fabric isn’t quite thick enough and there is not much left to the imagination. I’m afraid that adding sweat to that equation would be a super embarrassing situation. Maybe it’s just the color I purchased and a darker color would be better.
These are near HG shorts for me, i find myself rationing them for my hardest runs. I find that my iPhone X fits well and is secure when tucked just under the back seam. Keys are fine in the side pocket - perhaps this is just because i run with two keys; a larger key ring might feel less secure.
A few things to note -
1) my thighs are a bit wider, proportionally, than my other measurements, so TTS worked well for me.
2) These shorts only ride up on me if i try to pull the waistband high. if i let it rest in a natural spot just below my belly button, they stay put just fine.
3) I'm 5'7", 140ish, and my usual 6 was a good fit.
As a marathon runner I bought these with the intention of using pockets for race nutrition. The length is great and don’t ride up on me. Other compression shorts come too high on me and I feel self-conscious, but I don’t get that with these. However, I tried running with gels and they kept falling out of the waist-band pockets. The stitching doesn’t go far enough to create actual pockets, so it’s not really fit for purpose. I’m surprised that this issue hasn’t occurred for other people or hasn’t been addressed. I’m a regular 5ft6, 120lb female sub-3 marathoner. Sadly I will need to alter the stitching if I want to use these in a race or long training session.
