Dart Shorts Mini
Love short shorts? Interested in competition buns/brief? These are like a cross between the two. What makes them special is our Power Plya® fabric, combined with a unique cut. The rear, and rear leg, are shaped specifically to cover and hold. The front leg gives you room to move. The sides include small pockets, big enough for energy gels, or other small items (not advised for a phone). These are the ultimate go-fast-take-chances bottoms, ready to move and fly!
I wanted a pair of closer fitting racing shorts, but I wanted my butt to be covered and these worked well. I am usually a 6, but based on reviews, I sized down to a 4 and they fit well. I was worried they'd ride up, but I didn't notice that at all in the race. I'm long waisted, so I appreciated the higher waist band and they didn't feel too tight (28" waist, 5'4", 123 lbs). I'm very happy with these.
I was so excited for these but got them only to find they don’t fit. I have other playa shorts in a 4 that fit well so that’s what I went with. They looked tighter fitting based on the model photos and my measurements match up with a size 4 on the size chart (26 waist, based on this the size 2 should be way too small). They gap at the waist not even touching my body in the back, have excess fabric and bunch in the crotch, and flare at the leg. There is a point in the back of the leg near the pocket that is quite pronounced and looks a little strange on me too. It’s very disappointing, sizing across the brand has at some point changed and it’s been quite inconsistent. Lately it’s been hard to know what size to get and makes me hesitant/unlikely to order with high shipping rates and long arrival times. The description says they are mid rise but they definitely feel high rise and come up to my belly button (I prefer this, might’ve been more likely to size down knowing they are higher rise though). The fabric does feel nice and I like the pockets on the leg with the shorter inseam, the whole reason I wanted them. Pocket joggers are too long. It’s just frustrating not being able to follow the size chart to know what size to get, especially not being able to try them on beforehand. Now I am stuck with a pair of shorts I can’t wear or exchange because they were final sale.
I was skeptical at first with the cut but turns out these are a fantastic mini short that ALSO covers your cheeks in the rear, this includes coverage while in motion mid workout ! The waist comes up high which is fine for someone with a long torso like me! Oiselle hit the mark with these 🎯
These pockets actually work and hold what you need. I often run on call and I am looking for a short that will hold my phone and pager. These do the trick and nothing falls out even during speed work. I highly recommend if you need a short that isn’t super long and has functional pockets. Well done oiselle!
