New GO TO Shorts

I am in love with these shorts and they have quickly become my go to running shorts. My other favorite pair are the split leg Rogas from a few years ago so when I saw the mini split styling on these I knew we’d be a match. Sure, the pockets aren’t really functional (it’s truly annoying to run with anything in them) but I’m not going to hate on them. Perhaps a rear centered pocket on the next version.

Poorly Placed Pockets

The original flyout shorts are my all time favorite. They have a back pocket rather than the side/front pocket, which was ideal. I try to like the new style but the pockets cause too many issues, such as riding up, the leg flipping up and under the pocket, the pocket sticking out, etc., which is not ideal when running any long distance runs. Please bring back the original style in these beautiful colors!

similar but better fit than OG distance

After reading the reviews I debated ordering a size down but so glad I didn't. I normally wear a size 4 and size 4 fit me perfectly. I would describe the fit as similar to OG distance but better. The inner liner isn't as baggy and it sits just a little lower (right below my belly button). I do agree with the other reviews that the pockets are pretty non functional. It's too big where if you put keys in there it will bounce around. It's big enough for a iphone XR but who want to run while one side of their shorts is being weighed down by a phone. The only use I can think of for those pockets is maybe a fuel packet or a credit card. Still happy with my purchase because the fabric is light and comfy.

Love these shorts, hate the pockets

Just echoing all the other comments here. These shorts are great, love the fabric and the fit. The front pockets are annoying... Maybe just have one front pocket and add a back pocket would be a lot more useful.

Nice fabric, bad fit

I'm 5'9, 135 lbs, and a size 6 in the distance shorts. Size 6 is way too big in the flyout shorts, so I recommend sizing down. The good: the fabric feels nice. The bad: the waistband feels rough and scratchy, the fit is "poofy" and very unflattering in the front, the fabric wrinkles horribly after washing, the pockets cause the sides of the shorts to poof out, and the pockets hang out below the hem of the shorts when I sit down. I never reach for this when I get dressed for a run!

Great for hot sweaty runs, weird pockets

When I first tried these on, I wasn't a fan and was about to send them back. I'm a fan of the Rogas and these felt really different; a much narrower waistband that felt tight at first, since the pressure is over a smaller area, and the cut looked a bit like the infamous "poofy shorts." I debated a bit and ended up keeping them, and I'm really glad I did. The fabric doesn't feel that special until worn on really hot and sweaty runs (located in Texas, so all the time) but it feels really light and wicks sweat well, so they're one of my favorite pairs for summer running now. Like other reviewers, I'm not a fan of the pockets. The zippers are at an angle across the front of the thigh, like casual shorts, so it's kind of an awkward place to put anything remotely heavy. It works ok with a key, but I don't think I'd want to put anything bulkier than that in them while running. I'd definitely prefer a small zipper waist pocket.

So comfortable, but silly pockets

As many others have said, these shorts are so comfortable! They fit me so well (8, true to size for Oiselle), and the fabric is amazing. I wear them mostly just as "lifestyle" clothing because they're that good, but also good for running of course. The pockets are in a weird place, and the zippers puff out when sitting down. Would love more colors and pockets somewhere else!

Perfect shorts!

The only athletic shorts I’ve found with a zip pocket that fits my iPhone. Need more colors! I have blue and black and would love them in other colors abs prints since I practically live in these!
