LUX LAYER LONG SLEEVE
When we first started working with Lux, we designed the Lux Layer. It was as simple as they come, with a clear focus on what made it better and different: the fabric. This style is an ode to that original design (that some Oiselle followers still own) while sprucing it with some updates. The fit is intended to be close-to-body without being tight. It has a simple crew neck and thumb holes. It is the cool weather top, or easy mid-layer, you'll reach for again and again.
- Classic Lux (polyester / spandex)
- baselayer fit
- raglan sleeve
- 25" body length (size 4)
Look no further! You have found the perfect long sleeve for running in cold weather. I shall never buy another type of fabric; this is so soft, and yet thick enough to keep me warm on colder runs. I would need a lighter weight (which I think Oiselle makes the Lux Light now?) for spring/fall temps, but this is nice for weather in the 30's.
For sizing reference, I am 5'6", 140 lbs, and normally run as a Small to Medium in tops. I bought the size 6 and it's perfect. Top is fitted but not tight.
I ordered this top in ivory, and the color was great. The fabric is extremely soft and substantial, so even in a light color, it was not sheer. I normally wear an 8 in this brand and most running brands, but this top was pretty narrow through the chest and shoulders. I think if you are on the smaller side of your normal size, you would probably be OK with typical size. Wearers who tend to be larger through the bust may want to size up. The top is well made and would definitely be great for general wear other than running. I will be exchanging for the next size up to see how it fits.
This top is so clutch - it doubles as the perfect run layer and life layer. I find myself wearing it for all activities. It has a little bit of a looser fit, which is great for layering. It also looks really nice and can be worn to work, etc. or for extra cozy lounge wear (how does Oiselle do this?!?!) This lux shirt is a bit of a heavier fabric than the flyout wool, for comparison. Super buttery soft. I am loving the black color these days!
This is my go-to base layer shirt for cold weather. It is heavier than some of the other material (i.e. flyout) so keeps you more insulated in the cold. The shirt is incredibly soft and well fitted, so it's made for layering with vests and other outerwear layers. In general, lux is my favorite material from Oiselle, so comfort is guaranteed!
I was so happy to see the Lux Layer back in the mix this year. This top was one of my original Oiselle favorites, and the fit and neckline are just perfection. It's fitted but not tight, runs true to size, and has all the benefits of being running-functional AND absolutely appropriate for work wear. The ivory especially looks very classy. I'll probably get at least 3 colors to replenish my collection!! Happy dance!
