Great top, love the soft fabric, and I got this in the blue, which is a wonderful, rich color. Love it.
Per the size guide, I should have gotten size 8, but from my history of weight training i thought it better to size up to 10. The 10 fits my broader shoulders and my bigger arms perfectly, and the rest of the body is slightly loose which is fine for me.
I tend to run warm, and I find that this top is all I need for my early morning runs in temps from 35-45 degrees.
Love, sweet, love
I cannot say how much I love this shirt. Bought it on a whim a few months ago and it is absolutely the one thing I grab every time I'm going to be exercising outside and cry when it's in the wash. I wash it cold and line dry, and so far it's held up really well. It is virtually UNSTINKABLE. The arms are indeed long, but I like it because my hands get warm quickly and I can still cover them a bit once I take my gloves off. The wool is soft and super cozy. It keeps me at the perfect temp - not too warm, not too cold - and it's appropriate for a wide range of temps. Love, love, love it.
- Soft, warm, cozy.
- Absolutely nothing
Best shirt ever!!
I am in love with this shirt!! It fits perfectly, looks great and is so warm!! It doesn't stink after a run and it feels great when I run. I absolutely need another!!

best wool top
I am addicted to non-itchy wool base layers and other tops. I've tried and have many brands, including Duckworth, Ibex, Icebreaker, Smartwool, Kari Traa, etc. I get cold and nothing works like wool. This is so far and by far the highest quality wool baselayer I have met. The material is soft and substantial but not suffocating. The fit is exceptional. I got true to size and mine is not as tight/fitted as the models', except in my strong swimmer arms. The functionality goes beyond others - the thumbholes, long enough sleeves and longer length. I think I will get another one with a birthday discount from Oiselle so I have one for running and one to keep a bit more clean and less roughed up, for life. Oh, and the blaze orange color is stellar.

This review is a little late since I've had the Wazzie wool base layer for more than a year. But I was folding it lovingly this morning after a half marathon yesterday and gave it a sniff - still no smell - and realized it's my favorite piece of running clothing. It's the perfect length, great thumbholes, great weight. It's so soft and comfortable. It's always just the right thing to put on for a chilly run and ties easily around the waist after a warmup. Also, I was traveling for work this week and needed a sweater since the weather was colder than what I'd planned for - this top turned into a respectable work sweater in a pinch (I folded the thumb holes up). Just the best!

One layer to rule them all
Purchased this top to do my winter runs and I never wanted to run in anything else. Which was ok, cause even after 3 runs in the week, it didn't stink. None of my running buddies could believe it! This was my go to with only a bra, tights and hat, I was comfortable on every run. I'm 5'11, 160# and the size 10 was roomy and comfortable. Sleeves are long enough as well as the body. I also bought an 8 during the sale and it fits great too. Sleeves don't come down over my hands as easily, but the layer is still great.
- long sleeves, not itchy, warm but not too warm for winter/late fall/ spring running
Most Versatile Shirt I Own
This is one of my favorite all-time clothing purchases. I originally bought it for a backpacking trip with extreme temperature differences and it kept me warm when I needed, cool when I needed, and dry. It also doesn’t stink, which means I don’t need to wash it after every use, which helps the integrity of the fabric (is that gross?... sorry). Needless to say I have worn it for a variety of other activities and it has kept its shape and structure over the last 18 months. Best of all, it is stretching with me through my pregnancy. It is hard to find things that flatter my belly but this looks and feels great. Should fit through month 7 or 8! It itches slightly but it’s wool, so what do you expect? If you want to benefits of wool, it’s going to be a little itchy. It hasn’t prevented me from buying more of this shirt!
- Keeps me warm, cool, dry, and odorless.
Survived a freezing deluge!
I just ran the '18 Boston Marathon, which was a 30mph headwind with pouring sheets of freezing rain the entire time. I wore this with a thin rain jacket and nothing else on top. My core and arms stayed warm the entire race..it was amazing! I had read before the race Merino wool has a magical way of keeping you warm even when it gets wet, and it absolutely did. So, so glad I went with this top on that day in particular but also have loved it in much milder conditions, too! Worth its weight in gold!
- Breathability and adaptive ability to both wick and insulate
Comfy and warm without being bulky or snug. Works as a running top or just with jeans. Length is great. I'm 5'9" with broad shoulders and a long torso and the 12 is a perfect fit, hitting a few inches below my hips.
- Great fit.
- Seattle, WA
I bought this top but it has not been cold enough to wear it here in Seattle. Until now that is! Temps in the 30s with a wind chill in the 20s. Wore this the past two days for an easy run and then a hill run. I am a 32DD and bought a size 2. I have 2 other Oiselle tops and this one is my favorite. i stayed warm and comfy the entire time I was out.
- Warmth, fit and color
I live in MN and was looking for a baselayer for winter running. THIS IS PERFECT! I want another one so I can rotate and not do laundry since this is the only shirt I want to wear this winter. Perfect!
Awesome base layer, doesn't stink
The major pro for wool is that it hides BO stank. The con is that it can be itchy. I found the wazzie wool long sleeve to be less itchy that other wool or wool-blend fabrics, but it definitely isn't as soft as the Lux fabric. However, because of its ability to hide stank, it is my go-to shirt when traveling, camping or backpacking. I didn't shower for 10 days this summer while backpacking and I wore this shirt every.single.day without washing it. It only smelled faintly, barely unpleasant by the very end. I also run in this shirt and wear it around town, typically 5-6 times without washing, compared to Lux fabric which I wash every 1-2 times. I love the blue color and design. Like others have mentioned, the sleeves run a big long. If you're too busy to do laundry- wazzie wool is for you!

Beautiful top, interesting smell
I was so excited to grab this top on sale in the Oba Blue. It is beautiful and fits really well. I had a really hard time deciding between the 4 and 6 but went with the 4 and it fits great although I lean more toward the 6 in the sizing chart - 5'6", 135-140 depending, 34-29-38 measurements. I did read one review about the smell but wrote it off. No smell when I received it but I threw it in the wash on cold and when I took it out - WHOA! My first reaction was kitty litter, then perm (yes I had my share of perms in the 80's...). I hung it out all day to dry hoping the fresh air will help. I really love this top in every way but TBD on the smell issue. As an aside I have owned many wool items including Smartwool, Ibex and Icebreaker and never experienced this before.
- Everything! Long sleeves, thumb holds, coziness, print, scooped neckline
- odd bad smell after washing, on cold
Be Careful - this isn't spandex!
Love this top, and wear it as a base layer almost all the time - however I had a similar experience to one other reviewer in that I was out camping and grabbed a sleeve to pull it off, and ripped a 3 inch tear. It's currently at the cleaners being repaired, but you have to treat this more gently that your other long-sleeved tops. Sleeves can feel a bit long but it's a great fit and versatile piece.

second chance at love
Wool-it's a risk sometimes. At first try-on I lasted about 15minutes before I declared itchmania. However, I just loved the look of this and in the winter it just makes sense to don wool items. So I retried this little gem and was relieved that it remained on for a significant duration. Nothing compares to the Lux fabric, but this shirt is a fantastic layer. It's perfect under the Quill jacket or vest or solo on a not as freezing day. I may have even worn it with a little skirt and tights because, winter "dress up" as a runner and all......
- not as soft as I hoped

Great Winter Layer!
Tried this for the first cold Buffalo run yesterday and I was astounded at how much warmth I got from this shirt. It's soft and light but kept me warmer than a lot of heavier winter running shirts.
- Light but very warm!

great, but no lasting power!
I loved the shirt, I loved it completely...for a month. It was a wonderful baselayer for hiking, and quickly became my favorite winter running layer. I cared for it with caution, I'm a knitter, so I know how to care for wool. Last Saturday I wore it for a trail race, and an hour in when I started to warm up, I hiked up the sleeves, and ripped a nice quarter sized hole in the cuff. Trail running can be rough on gear, but I definitely don't expect clothing to not hold up to pulling up the sleeves!

I loved the feel but unfortunately it was too long in the sleeves and just too long overall. I'm 5'0" weigh 115 and normally wear a 4. The 4 didn't work for me. Too bad, I really wanted to love this top!
- color, material
I was hesitant to purchase a piece of Wazzie wool because for all I've heard about the "magic" of wool for athletic wear, I have never had great experiences. In fact, and I know this will make me sound crazy, I have never been able to get past the distinctive smell of wool. I don't care if it resists the stink of my sweat if I can't stand the smell of the shirt in the first place! I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this shirt is wonderful in every way. The fabric is substantial, but also lightweight and comfortable. There is no "wool" smell whatsoever, even wet out of the washer. It wicks like a champ, and keeps you warm without feeling at all stifling. I've also appreciated that it has handled being thrown into the family laundry with no issues, retaining the quality of fabric and shape through many normal wash/dry cycles. (I do not have time to wash my running clothes separately.) While the cost is substantial enough to give pause for thought, it is definitely worth it to have one of these base layers in rotation.
Bring Wazzie Wool Back!
Please, please, please bring back the Wazzie Wool shirt in all sizes in the cream and blackberry geo colors. Please!
can't take it off
I was skeptical about this shirt because I am sensitive to wool and cashmere. Everything makes me itch! What a sweet surprise when I slipped this baby on and it felt like butter. The fit and fabric are both perfect. I am embarrassed to say that i didn't take this shirt off all weekend...and that is before I actually ran in it. The Wazzie Wool kept me warm in a rainy 30 something run and is nice enough for Friday office casual days. I want it in all colors.
Oiselle at its best!!
This is possibly my favorite Oiselle purchase ever, and that is saying a lot. I would buy it in every color if I could afford to! I love to wear it so much in regular life that it is hard for me to want to get it sweaty, but actually even when I do run in it it does not get stinky (magical fabric!) and I have been guilty of wearing it, unwashed, for regular life again :) I'm usually between S and XS and S was perfect for me in this.
I have long been a lover of wool for training - and these tops pass the test with flying colours! Running, xc skiing, winter riding - they rock! Super comfy and soft, and well fitting. Sleeves are nice and long and the pattern makes it fun! I'm often a small in most Oiselle, and small fit perfect. I did order the medium in the wazzie sweatshirt for a slightly looser fit, and it's perfect!

Perfect base layer
I was a little hesitant to buy a wool base layer, but this has exceeded my expectations (I've just ordered a second one). It keeps me warm and dry, and is really soft. I was pleasantly surprised, too, after I wore it for a second run without having a chance to wash it, that it smelled much better than the (non-wool) layer I wore over it. I agree with others that if you're on the border between sizes to size down unless you want a loose fit (I'm usually S/M in a top and chose small - it fits just the way I like it). I've dried it on a low setting and also line-dried it - it came out of the drier fine. I won't usually do that, but it's a good option when short on time.
I've been into Merino for what feels like ages. I love Smartwool socks, and I've got casual wear tops from a couple different brands, all generally considered high-end. The Wazzie Wool blows them all away. It's by far the softest of the lot. It is very warm but also breathes well, so no overheating. It is expensive but worth every penny. Washes well too (I use cold cycle and line-dry). I've found it to fit the same as the Wazelle LS & the Flyte LS. The arms are snug but stretchy so not constricting. It's super-flattering.
I'm in love
I love all things wool and this baselayer is no exception! Super soft, lightweight, love the geo detailing. I have the geo red and it's amazing. I wore it skiing one day and running the next and it felt great next to skin! In my opinion it runs a little big, which I don't mind. I usually wear a small or medium in Oiselle tops and am keeping the small in this style. I probably could have gone down to XS but I like my tops to fit a touch loose.
