Firecracker Reflective Half Zip
New to the line, this lightweight half zip shell has been beautifully pieced with our premium reflective mesh, for a bold and safety-first design. It's the dawn or dusk jacket that you can throw on over anything. Relaxed in fit, with an extra-long center-front zipper for easy on/off. The shell fabric, same as used throughout our outerwear line, is both windproof and water-resistant, but light enough so that you won't overheat.
For someone who primarily runs on the west side of San Francisco, this is the perfect piece of clothing to block against chilly winds and fog/light precipitation. I love it so much and will likely get another one soon! One suggestion for future design iterations: insert zippered air vents under each armpit. I've found that often I don't want to take it off since it's still gusty, and also I don't want to lose the safety of the reflective panels... but it gets hot. Zippered vents would be icing on the cake. Thanks, Oiselle!
Wore it for an easy 5k run in the cold and light drizzle, was very nice. I can't speak for the water resistance, but held up nicely against the wind and cold temps. I love it!
I didn't think anything would top my Vim/Vigor or Say Anything layers but I love this jacket! Yes it gets wet, but when you live in the rainy PNW, you just commit to being wet in the rain anyway. The important thing is it keeps you warm (but is not too warm or clingy like the Say Anything) and it's so visible in the dark. I didn't *need* another outer layer but so happy I got this one. If I have one complaint, it's just missing a small key pocket, but I love the half-zip more than I thought I would.
I can’t say enough about how great this jacket is. I got this as a gift for Christmas (I have a rain jacket and vests for cold weather running so I probably wouldn’t have bought this for myself) but I’m so happy I have it now. I’ve used this in both snow and bitter cold (<10 deg) over a wool or thick layer, and it breaks the wind and keeps me the perfect temperature. It also feels snazzy when you’re wearing it and the reflective pieces are a great addition. I would definitely recommend for cold weather running!
