I was looking for a closer fitting pair of running shorts so I tried these. I think they would be great for marathon training and they do fit like regular bike shorts. I opted for the shorter length because I didn’t want the long biker short tan for the summer. Fit is identical to the pocket jogger leggings, maybe even a little tighter than the shorter version of this short
I really wanted to love these shorts for so many reasons! I got the fun Rising Sun color which is fabulous. I also love all the pockets and length of these shorts. The only issue is the fit in the waist. If it weren't for this these would be a favorite. The waist is very unflattering and cinches you in...but not in a good way. The waist needs to be designed so that it is not pinching and instead can be slimming. If I wear a short sleeve top with this it covers the waist issue but you can still kind of see it. I am curvy but relatively slim as I tend to wear a size small/medium or size 6/8. I want to wear a pair of shorts that makes me love my body and gives me confidence. When I put these on they make me lose my body confidence so I am going to return them. Please reintroduce these lovely shorts with a redesigned waist that flatters.
Also had issue with them running small, I wear a 6 in other compression oiselle shorts, 6 in these were way too tight. Exchanged for an 8 and they are still quite tight around the waist, but fit just a bit loose at the thighs for compression shorts. Otherwise great color, fabric, and pockets.
I finally got a warm day in NH to try these out. I am 5'8" and 165 pounds with thick thighs. I was so excited to have something shorter than capris and not black. I was so sad that because I was sweaty, it looked like I peed myself! They totally show the sweat in blue. And, the legs rode up. I had to stop several times to pull them back down. These are not comfortable at all and they weren't cheap. Super disappointed but too late to return them.
Finally a pair of shorts that don't ride up or chafe! I wear a 6 in Rogas which I wear fairly loose (skinnier waist and bigger thighs) and a 6 in these shorts feels like really nice compression shorts that don't ride up at all. I think if I wore my Rogas tighter these would be way too small.
After a year of use, I can confidently say these are my favorite running shorts. They never ride up or chafe. They hold everything I need, plus there's extra space if I needed more. They look good. The side pocket can actually fit a small water bottle, and it'll stay put while running- a great asset if I feel like running to the gym and want to be hands free (though I wouldn't count on this method for a long run). They fit really well, not tight or loose anywhere on my body type (I'm 5'9, 140# and got a size 6). The fabric is on the thicker side, but it's never been an issue for temp regulation. In hot temps I don't think different shorts would make that much of a difference. They do show a little sweat in the navy color, but not so much that I'm embarrassed. Definitely the shorts I look forward to wearing the most!
This is my third pair, I’ve bought two in previous years but the waist is TIGHT. If anything I’ve shaved off some weight since my last pair, and these are way tighter. I want to love them but they create a muffin top that I never have! Disappointed.
I bought these as I was in love with the colour (purple) and prefer longer inseams as anything 5inches or less rolls up on my thunder thighs. I am 5’9 and 160lbs and usually wear a size 8 in Oiselle. Upon arrival (shipped to Ireland mind you ;)) I disappointed to see that they were really tight. I can put them on put get pinching points so I am not sure I will use them (unless I shed a couple pounds, which is not really a plan of mine).
