I would marry these shorts

If anyone reads this review - buy these shorts!! I am a marathon runner and I have (no lie) 8 pairs of these!! I bought 2 as backup in the worst case scenario that Oiselle stops making them. They have pockets, they stay where they need to stay... 10/10!!

These are the shorts!

These are my go to shorts for all my runs because of the pockets and the fact that they don’t ride up or chafe. During ultras and long training runs, the pockets can hold all my gear (especially when I don’t want to wear a hydration vest). This year’s iteration is closer to that of 2019’s fit, the tight waistband has been fixed but it does feel like the rise is still a little higher than before. I wore a 4 in 2019, a 6 in 2020, and wear a 4 in this version.

Note on the color- PNW is very close to forest green of year’s past!

Not my fave, but do the job

These are... OK. They're not very flattering, and the waistband is tight on days I am bloated (eg period) because it has a built-in drawstring. The wide waistband with the pockets is very thick... as in, several layers of material, and though the pockets do hold things, I have never needed all 5 at once. Also not too flattering either. The material is stretchy, but I was hoping it would have a smooth, shiny look to it like my previous Oiselle leggings, but instead it kind of looks like cotton. Not my jam. There are nicer shorts out there. I got mine in black, and they stay put when running and don't ride up which was my #1 reason why I kept them. They're also VERY warm/thick material so not your best choice for hot summer runs. FWIW, I'm 5'6, 127lbs, athletic build (with a bit of butt) and I bought a size 4 (my regular) and the fit was fine.
