Take Flight Split Shorts

I absolutely love these shorts! They are true split shorts, allowing full movement for speed workouts or any other activities needing full range of motion. I was a little worried the looseness of the fabric due to the split would make them bunch between my legs (my thighs definitely touch each other), but I didn't find this to be an issue. The elastic bands are a fun addition and add a "cool" factor, haha, although I haven't tried tucking a shirt into them yet, so I don't know how well the shorts will stay up with the extra weight. I got my regular size SM (I'm 5'3" and 120lbs with a straight shape and athletic build), and they fit slightly loose around the waist, but I don't think I'd want to size down. They are so comfortable and I don't even think about them while running. They went immediately to the top of my rotation and I get so excited to wear them!

These are so light and the fabric is soft and breezy. I love a split leg short and was happy to see Oiselle bring back this design (I have an older pair of split leg Rogas that I love). The waistband is comfortable and doesn’t dig in or ride up (however I haven’t added much to the pocket or run with anything in the waistband elastic straps—a feature I am stoked about).
I did deduct one star because there is slightly too much fabric in the butt, making the shorts bunch and gather down the back center seam. I debated sizing down but for me that would likely only make the waist feel too tight and not solve the bunching. I purchased the flower pattern which the design helps hide/distract from the bunching, but I worry in a solid color it could be more noticeable.

I’m in love with these split shorts. The cut and fabric are so nice, then the cute print, and finally the pockets. I got a size M and they feel comfy for my 39” hips. Love 💗‘em! The only thing I might quibble about is if I’m loading up the pockets, I’d feel more secure if there were a drawstring in the waistband.

I love a real split short and they're hard to find for women so I was stoked to see Oiselle make a pair. I ordered the floral print but they were just not flattering on and for the price I could not justify keeping them. I really wanted to love them. FWIW I'm usually a 4 in most Oiselle bottoms and the smalls were a little too big. Sizing down may have helped with the volume of fabric around my hips but I think the waistband would have been too tight.
