Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
"Do the work. Do the analysis, but feel your race. Feel the joy that is running." - Kara Goucher
These words are what guide my training: toughness, dedication and adaptability.
Why do you run?
I run because the mind-body connection makes me feel more alive and resilient/confident. Running is a gift for me to develop, and it is a gift to be shared. Many of my closest friendships got started through running. I have been taught many lessons through running, and I want to keep learning!
What is your favorite place to run?
Seattle's Discovery Park, Green Lake's Woodland Park, and Ravenna Park.
Running gear you can't live without?
A watch with a countdown timer and a shirt that is not 100% cotton.
What is your favorite local running store?
Super Jock and Jill; they are friendly and knowledgeable, support a lot of community runs, employee college runners, and have a generous return policy.
When you're not running where would we find you?
In a library (reading for fun and working on schoolwork for my Marriage and Family Therapy degree) or in my kitchen playing around with food.
What is your favorite post-race treat?
Sweetbread of almost any kind, with nuts and citrus zest and spices or Coach Doris Heritage's chocolate walnut oat cookies with peanut butter smeared on the top.
