Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
I take a dream big, work small approach to my running. Don't limit yourself in your goals, but don't over-reach in the day to day training. There's no magic to long term success in running, you just have to show up and do the work every day.
Why do you run?
There are so many reasons. The obvious one is that I love it. There's nothing like being fit and heading out for a long run and just cruising. The long solo run. It's comfortable and challenging at the same time. It's freeing and it lets you think. Or not think. Whichever you need that day. When things are going well, running lets you savor your life. When things aren't going well, running lets you blow off steam, or escape, or just makes it easier to sleep at night.
What is your favorite place to run?
Close-in Portland. I like pounding the pavement.
What is your favorite local running store?

When you're not running where would we find you?
At work designing building structures, at home reading a book, or in my basement studio playing music.
What is your favorite post-race treat?
Coffee and Mexican breakfast, followed by gluten-free cupcakes.
