Do you have a training philosophy?
Stay balanced. I love training and competing to the best of my ability, and I do best when my life is balanced.
What is your favorite place to run?
Point Defiance Park is my local favorite, but I will always be attached to the long trails of Forest Park where I trained during my college days at the University of Portland.
Why do you run?
I run for health, fitness, and relationships. I'm currently earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and I hope to promote wellness through my career and by example as a runner. I love how running gives me energy, serves as an outlet for stress, and helps me balance the demands of school. I also enjoy the community aspect of running; many of my closest friends are runners.
What animal do you most resemble in your racing and why?
I don't really know why, but I was called a "freakin' hyena" after winning a race, and the label has stuck.
What is your favorite activity, when not running?
I love spending time with my wonderful husband; he always makes me smile!
