Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
“Never, never, never give up." - Winston Churchill
Why do you run?
Running honestly makes me a better mother, wife, and friend - it focuses my brain, gives me confidence and helps me shed the stress in my life. Most of all I am happy when I run. I have never, ever finished a run less content than when I began.
What is your favorite place to run?
The southern section of the American Tobacco Trail in Durham, North Carolina in the fall, Pleasanton Ridge in California in the winter, and the streets of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
Running gear you can't live without?
I was going to say my Garmin, but everyone says that, and if i forget mine someone else is bound to have one! Arm warmers. I really think that convertible long sleeves are one of the best inventions ever! Especially arm warmers with thumb holes! Way to go Oiselle!
When you're not running where would we find you?
Spending time with my son or my friends. Or at Trader Joe's - I spend an embarrassingly large amounts of time there.
What is your favorite post-race treat?
A non-fat, 2 Splenda latte from Bean Traders in Durham and a Starbucks turkey bacon, egg white, and cheese sandwich.
Complete the sentence: If I was stranded in a hotel room with one movie and one book, they would be…
Mamma Mia and Half the Sky.
