What is your favorite quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?

Favorite post-race meal?
Either steak or salmon, veggies, couscous and cheesecake.

What is your must-have piece of running gear?
My running shoes!

Do you have a training philosophy?
Consistently working hard over a long period of time surrounded by well-intentioned people is my key to success.

What is your favorite place to run?
I really enjoy trail running. For me, it is much more beneficial than running on the roads or treadmills. City Creek Trail is probably my favorite. It is an out and back run. On the way out you climb a few thousand feet up a canyon; the views are well worth the pain of running straight up a mountain. 

Why do you run?
I run for the consistent pure simplicity in an increasingly chaotic world. Running keeps me grounded and connected with my mind, body and soul. Also, I was always much better at running around in circles than doing anything else. Playing 5th quarter basketball (yep, they created a 5th quarter for the benchwarmers!) was never as thrilling for me.

What is your favorite workout?
Alternating 500s and 300s with short rest between the reps and long rest betweens sets.

What is your favorite activity, when not running?
Rock climbing. I have only been maybe a dozen times, but the adrenaline rush is invigorating and the challenging courses are addicting. I also enjoy dirt biking, boating, and camping.

Right now, The Intouchables directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano and Good to Great by Jim Collins … these choices change every day though!
