Product Details

In the Northwest, where any-day-can-be-April-showers, we know rain, we know wind, and we solidly love vests. Vests are best, and it’s easy to know why: they are that single, easy on piece that protects your core from the elements while the rest of your body runs free. The fit of this vest is relaxed, with a tall stand up color, and zip pockets...because pockets.

Also available as the April Showers Anorak.

- polyester
- two front zip hand pockets
- chest zip pocket
- packable into chest pocket
- adjustable hem with barrel closure
- 24.75" front body length (size small)

Pattern make me happy, but runs big

I was immediately taken with the flower pattern and do love it, but be warned--it runs large! I still kept it, because it isn't so large that I feel silly, but if I could go back, I would have gone a size down.

Looks like a great vest but runs big

I love wearing a vest in the winter months, especially in the rainy PNW. This vest hit all the points I look for...not too heavy, water resistant, pockets, stashable, no bouncy hood. Felt stuck on what size to buy. I'm usually a size 8 in Oiselle, though some size 8 things fit a bit snug (5'8", 155 pounds, 38C bra, athletic build). The size chart put a size 8 as a M-L. That's not a sizing option here so I figured since my measurements trend toward the upper side of the ranges listed, I went with the large thinking that a little loose would be better than too tight. It was WAY too big. Sending it back in hopes the medium will work. The vest description calls it a "relaxed" fit. The large was so big on me it was a sloppy fit. Other than that, the material and design seemed great.

True to Its Name

Makes a great wind breaker for chilly conditions and is a great layer for April Showers type weather. A good option for someone who runs too warm for a full jacket. And you would never guess it really does fold up in to the little chest pocket (because it actually isn't that little...I can fit my sunglasses in it).

  • The fit is really nice.
  • Not much! I would love to see this in other patterns/colors.

Vest perfection

I was skeptical about how useful a thin water-resistant vest could be, but now I finally understand - it is the ultimate outerwear for drizzly late winter/spring runs in the Pacific Northwest. I think it resists water even better than the vim/vigor material, for reference. If rain is in the forecast during your training schedule this is super easy to pop on for an extra layer of warmth & weather protection without overheating. I love how tiny it packs up, it's super easy to stash if it turns out I don't need it. A wazzie wool layer underneath may be the magic combo for wet running comfort.

  • Fits great, is surprisingly water resistant, stash pocket!
