Extremely satisfied!

These shorts are great. I was between a 2 and a 4 and went with the 4, and the fit is ideal. (I am 5'8", 125 lb.) They are a little shorter than I anticipated based on the picture, but the length is still comfortable. They don't look or feel like "short-shorts."

I have worn them several times now, on dry 60 degree days, warmer late-summer days, and rainy days. The longest run I've done in them has been 5 miles, but given that they didn't ride up or budge at all, I'm confident they would be just as comfortable on longer runs. One thing I haven't done in them yet is a super sweaty run, so I'm not sure how they are with regards to moisture-wicking, etc.

The back zipper pocket fits my (small) iPhone SE. I'm not sure if it would fit a larger phone. The side pockets definitely would. I can't attest to how secure the side pockets are because I haven't run with anything in them, but they seem pretty secure.

These are awesome. They are the only shorts I want to run in anymore. I plan to buy more, as well as the pocket jogger long shorts, capris, and tights, just as soon as they restock in more colors and sizes.

Favorite Pair of Running Shorts

These are my absolute favorite pair of running shorts - I own 7 pairs. They don't ride up, perfect length at close to 5 inches, they come up fairly high on the waist (which I love), and are great for heat or cool temps. I'm typically a medium in spandex/shorts, and always between a 4-6 and I prefer the size 4 in these. (I also own a size 6 and it's completely fine! The compression just isn't quite as tight.) For reference, I can fit: 6 gel packets comfortably in these shorts. I can fit my iPhoneX in the back pocket. Keys, credit cards, etc., all fit in the back pocket. Seriously, the best shorts!

Pockets! Shorts!

Holy pockets, Batman! This is my first written review of anything and I felt compelled to leave a comment because these shorts are that good! I have been phobic of running shorts for most of my adult life. The riding up. The chafing. No thank you. I'll take a pair of leggings with a side of overheating in the summer any day. But I've recently been tired and frustrated with wearing a running belt to carry my things. Add in the realization that my legs have reached a new shade of blinding pale, and it seemed like it was time to reach for some shorts again. Enter Pocket Jogger Shorts. There are so many pockets for keys, phone, snacks, emotional baggage, whatever you want to bring on a run with you! They're a great length for those of us who don't like/want to/feel confident about rocking the short shorts. They ride up a teeny tiny bit when you start running, but then they stay put and don't move through all of your physical and mental hurdles. The one downside? The inner thigh seam rubs a little bit. So if you're like me and your thighs are best friends and never not touching, then you may notice this as well. My skin isn't particularly sensitive, so it didn't really bother me. Overall, 10/10 experience, would recommend to others!
I'm 5'6", I wear a size 10 pant and bought these in a 10. The fit overall is great. I have a little bit of a muffin top, but I think that speaks more to my late night pizza habit rather than the cut of the shorts. :)

Ok I am sold

I have avoided wearing compression shorts for years - which is weird, because I love capris and will wear them into the summer sometimes. I think it is because they have always rode up on me - and short ones became too short for my comfort.

These ride up "just a tad" -- and actually just enough for a perfect fit. As others have noted, they are on the heavier weight of material, and don't compress a lot, both of these things are features and not bugs for me :). I think that the fabric and the compression level is perfect, and one of the reasons they fit so well.

I love these shorts. I love them so much I am buying at least one or two of the other colors. Thank you Oiselle!

Worked great in 1st 100-miler

Wore these in the first half of my recent 1st 100-miler. Was able to use all of the pockets to put in snacks/wrappers as i moved down the trail, and even filled the pockets with baggies of ice during the heat of the day (air conditioning for your thighs!). A male-friend even commented that they looked super comfy and functional, but i had to inform him you guys only make ladies clothes...

Fabric is on the thick side but wicks well. Pockets are super functional and the length was good for me. I might consider sizing up if I get a second pair. I would say they are true to size but I have a pretty solid thigh-to-hip ratio and often have to size up compression/booty-style shorts to get the legs to fit right.

great pockets but they ride up

I wanted to love these shorts, I am a strictly tights with pockets person and wanted a warm weather version. I got the size 6 which should be right on target for the measurements and they fit great - but as soon as I start running they ride up several inches. It's not necessarily uncomfortable, but it's way shorter than I was going for, and wouldn't have ordered such short shorts! So, not a great look, maybe if I had sized down they would be more snug, not sure. Anyway, the pockets are great, too bad about the riding up.

Stop debating and GET THE SHORTS!!

I'm sure you're familiar with the tale: looking for the absolutely perfect pair of shorts to carry you through the next distance you have your sights set on. It's doubtful that a pair exists that fits well, looks great, AND you can store everything you need to...

That's when the Pocket Joggers come in. Yes - you can have an amazing pair of shorts that's the perfect length, an amazing fabric, and you BETTER BELIEVE there are enough pockets to store your phone (even if it's an iPhone plus!), keys, gels, trash, dog poop bags - everything under the sun. And the best part? They. Still. Don't. Move. I forget I have my phone in the side pocket if the run is long enough - even with music still playing through my ears.

Yes, the price point is a little high, but when you compare it to other shorts with no pockets that aren't your dream short (and really in a similar price range anyway) it is ABSOLUTELY worth the investment.

If you decide to wait any longer, you'll probably spend more $ on body glide/vaseline trying to calm the chafe down (ladies, we all know it's real!)

I have logged up to 16 miles so far in these shorts and plenty of other longer runs as well - I have yet to apply body glide while running in these through Atlanta's Heat & Humidity! NO CHAFE, Y'ALL!

Stop waiting before they sell out! Go, go, go!

Best Running Shorts

I had been wanting to try the pocket joggers for awhile, I usually run in shorts like the Mac Rogas. But now that iphones are getting bigger, I hate carrying them with an arm band. Thus the need for pockets! These are even better than the Lululemon what the sport shorts because they don't chafe!!!! They are the perfect length and fabric. Ran a very humid 5k with them and had no issues at all. My phone even stayed dry in the pockets! I will be buying many more colors of these.

Really don't move or chafe

I just did a half marathon at the beach in Ecuador in HOT weather, 85% humidity, and these shorts did not move. Didn't even chafe! That is amazing. And yes, the pockets are incredibly useful and BIG. I stuck my phone in a plastic bag in the zip pocket and it didn't move - I didn't even notice it was there. Highly recommend. I have a muscular build and they fit great.

Running Belt Not Needed!

I was skeptical about these shorts as I have never heard of a pair of shorts not riding up. After my first wear on a 5 mile run, I am truly impressed! I didn't have to fuss with them once. They were super soft and the pockets allowed me to leave my running belt at home. The only con of these shorts is that they show major sweat and lack in the moisture wicking dept. I bought a black pair would be okay but nope- I looked like a peed my pants. Not sure what to do about this but if this the cost of having shorts that do not ride up, then I'll deal for now!

Dissapointed

After reading several reviews on how great these are, I decided to order a pair. Instantly rode up! The fabric is not what I expected. It feels like cotton and I felt did not wick away sweat or dry quickly. The way the waist is designed gave me a great mom pooch. (not flattering at all). I would have like a little more compression around my lower ab area. I wore these at my 24 ultra an found myself constantly pulling at my shirt to cover my lower abdomen.

  • pockets, color
  • design. lacking in compression, moisture wicking and support for the Design - needs more compression and more of a compression panel over the abdomen.

THE. BEST. SHORTS.

I don't really write reviews, but I wanted to share how much I love these shorts. I work out in them almost daily, from running to gym workout to backpacking. For all occasions, they are my dream shorts. They are durable, they stay in place, they are the perfect length. The pocket on the side easily tucks my phone in place so I can use headphones while I exercise. The back panel keeps my keys securely zipped in. The other leg pocket keeps whatever's left, or trash if I pick any up while outside.

I never knew that you could really really fall in love with a product until I found a pair of shorts that go with me everywhere. And I didn't realize I'd been looking for these shorts for all my life until I found them! But seriously. Not only do I love the vision and mission behind Oiselle, but they also make an exceptional, high quality product. Wins all around.

Would recommend these shorts absolutely and this brand. Will be buying much more Oiselle apparel.

My Unicorn of Running Shorts

I can't wear the traditional swishy running shorts. I've tried a dozen different styles (OG Rogas included) and they all ride/bunch up. Compression shorts are better, but if the length isn't just right (or down to my knees) they also ride up and my butt ends up hanging out. These pocket joggers are probably as perfect as I'm going to find. I just finished a sweaty 3.5 mi run with hills and they did not budge more than 1/4". If shorts are going to ride up for me it always happens within the first mile, but these did not move.

I tried my phone (iphone 7) in both the side pocket and back zippered pocket and I prefer the back pocket. I've never had a back zippered pocket that was large enough to hold my phone so that is awesome! The side leg pockets also work well but the phone did jostle a little at first so that takes some getting used to.

Sizing - According the size chart I fall right in the middle of a 4 and 6. I went with the size 6 and it's perfect. For reference - I'm 5' tall, 115 lbs, 26" waist, 36" hips, and 22" thighs. I am also a pretty standard size 4 in pants. I definitely wouldn't size down to a 4 because the legs would most likely be too snug and IME that usually causes them to ride up.

  • Pockets that are actually big enough to hold more than one gel or a single key!

Awesome shorts

I used to avoid wearing these type of shorts because they inevitably would ride up too much. I’m glad that I gave the pocket joggers a try, because they’re awesome. They do ride up slightly from when you initially put them on, but stay put afterwards.

I wore the shorts in a race, and was able to keep my phone, driver’s license, and gel in the pockets.

The perfect shorts

I was curious about these because pockets are what heaven actually is, but I was hesitant to purchase them because I've had trouble with spandex shorts. As soon as I tried them on, I bought them. The high waist and length means the shorts stay in place. The fabric is sturdy and not see-through. On my first 5-mile run in them, I took my phone and my phone didn't budge. These are my new race shorts for sure. It's such a gift to wear comfortable, functional shorts and not have to think about them! If you're curious about them, I high recommend them, and I hope Oiselle makes these shorts a staple in the lineup.

As a secondary piece, I find my confidence in my body goes up in spandex (I discovered this with triathlon shorts). That I feel great in these is a wonderful bonus.

New Favorite Shorts

I am new to running and wanted a pair of stay-put shorts and I love pockets so I took the leap and ordered these based off the reviews. Now I need a few more pairs because all I want to run in now are these shorts. True to size, and has enough pockets to hold my phone, keys and ids securely - which is great for races. They might ride up a smidgen on my runs, but I don't really notice anymore. (I think filling my pockets kind of counteracts it)

So close to heaven

Once I saw these shorts in person, recommended by a friend, I had to try them. I have them in Douglas Fir. At 5'3"125lbs size 6 is great. They did not ride up on my test run 12 miler. They held my iphone X, small water bottle, and gels without issue. Fit and level of compression is spot on. Will certainly use these on longer runs.
My only complaint is that it looks like I wet myself from the sweat marks. Not sure if this is an issue with the black, but it sounds like from other reviews, the other colors show sweat marks as well.

Good fit, definitely don't move anywhere

Like many reviewers, I have been looking for shorts that do not ride up for long runs. These are great - they really do not move - and I also would like to mention that I contacted Oiselle Customer Service for sizing recommendation and their rec was spot on.

I would LOVE to see the same model in another fabric that is lighter - I agree with other comments that this fabric is a little heavier than I would like. Beach runs will still be hot, though.

Since this helps me - I am 5'5", 170 lbs, size 30 in pants, very athletic build, and the 8 fits nicely.

Great for pregnancy

I got these cuz they looked like shorts I could wear during pregnancy and post pregnancy. Yes, you need these shorts

I love these shorts. I have muscular thighs and while I’ve tried the Distance and Rogas, the shorts will ride up 90% of the time. The long Flyte and long Rogas have been my go to for the last few summers but I’ve always had to wear my flip belt to carry nutrition, phone and keys. This short eliminates the need for a running belt and does not ride up. I really appreciate the high rise- not only is it flattering, but having something around my core reminds me to keep my core engaged throughout my workouts. I immediately went and bought the other two colors but now I need Oiselle to make more colors. For size reference, I am 5’4”, 155 lbs and will vary between 8/10 with Oiselle- I went with the 10s on this style.

Wow! Perfect for summer

Very functional! I can finally get rid of my flipbelt. Lots of pockets, no thigh chaffing, doesn't ride up, and it's tight in the right places. I'm a usually a 4 in Oiselle capris/tights but had to get a 2 in these and it fits perfect (I'm not sure if the fit is the same as the long flyte shorts but when I purchased the flytes in small/4, it was a bit loose). I got these in curfew and my sweat marks weren't too bad. Would be nice to have it in black though--please restock! :)

Happy legs

I have thicker thighs which led to an aversion to running in shorts due to chaffing. But, on hot summer days, during peak training season I needed an option. I am thrilled with these. They stay in place, are just long enough to keep the chaffe away, but not too long to cause an unsightly tan line; I’m training for an ultra marathon so all of these were important to me. And the phone pocket not only fits my phone BUT the phone doesn’t bounce - which is amazing. Love these!! Got curfew; solid color, but please restock the black! 5’4” 145lbs, usually between size 6-8, got the 8 & they fit great (if between sizes I’d size up if you have a thick thigh).

Literally. They don’t ride up.

I impulse bought these at an expo before a half marathon because I had had my eyes on them for so long. I basically broke the #1 rule of racing (don’t wear/eat/try anything new on race day) and decided to wear them for the half. Holy crap. They are AMAZING. I prefer the compression short style and usually wear Stride shorts, which I love but do tend to have to pull down on longer runs. It happens; I have pretty curvy thighs. I ran the full 13.1 miles without having to touch these babies once and had no chafing (I did preemptively do some body glide). I was nervous about weighing myself down so I only used the one pocket in the back for my phone, which I couldn’t even feel. Seriously, it didn’t bounce or anything!! I can’t believe how well these performed and I want to buy 5 more pairs. If you like this style, I 100% recommend. I am ride or die for pocket jogger shorts!

Finally, my dream running shorts!

I was hesitant to order these shorts because $58 is a lot for running shorts, but the pocket jogger was absolutely worth it. For someone like me with muscular thighs, finding shorts that don't ride up or cause chafing was like the quest for the Holy Grail. Well, these are the Holy Grail of running shorts. These shorts did not ride up on me at all, and for the first time in a decade I wore shorts on a run without any body glide and didn't have chafing. Can't recommend them highly enough. So close, but so far out

Let me preface: I do LOVE these shorts. I have the longer pocket joggers, and recently purchased the shorter ones (4.75 inseam), and they're awesome, but they DO ride up for me. I'm 5' 3" with powerlifter thunder thighs (and tiny waist/ large butt syndrome), so it's nearly impossible for me to find the right fit in running shorts.. but I do love how light they are and how free I feel while wearing them. My old go-to's were the Lululemon Sole Training Short, and while those are more compressive and longer (6" -- which I loved), they are definitely bulkier. That said, I wish these guys were a little thicker -- just a tad to avoid the ride, and a little longer. Even just a half inch would make a big difference. I don't love the longer pocket joggers because they're too long for me (hit my knee and could actually go lower if I pulled them down) and not flattering at all, which I normally don't care about -- but it's true.. the better you feel you look... the better you perform. No chafing once so ever, and no real issues, -- the pockets are incredible. I live in Texas and sweat A LOT, and they do hold up wonderfully and allow me to breathe.. I just wish these guys were a tiny bit longer! #GoldieLocks

  • Lightweight, breathable, TONS of pockets. Get the job done without feeling heavy or bulky -- even when sweating so much I look like I jumped in a pool!
  • Wish they were a tiny bit longer.. ride up for these thunder thighs.

Please keep making these!

I have been waiting for shorts like these for years! I first found Oiselle 4 years ago when I was looking for shorts with pockets, and I've been wearing the Distance shorts and Toolbelt Rogas ever since. Now finally there's a compression option with pockets, too! Love the high-waisted fit, all the pockets (obviously) -- the back zip pocket is bigger than the Distance shorts' pocket, which makes it easier to get my phone in and out. The length is also great -- I thought I might need the long version, since short shorts tend to look really tiny on us tall folks, but these were the perfect length, and they don't ride up.

I wear a 6 in Rogas & Distance Shorts, and I sized up to an 8 in these.

BEST SHORTS EVER!

I cannot rave about these pocket jogger shorts enough! I used to be a die-hard Roga girl, but always wished they had more pockets. I held off on the pocket joggers for a while because typically compression-style shorts have ALWAYS ridden up on me, but these do not! Like not at all, ever. I've run in them with my iPhone in the back pocket and gels in the side pockets, and still no riding up or sagging down, even in the humidity. These are the holy grail of shorts! I'm a solid 6 in Rogas and went with a 6 in these shorts and they fit perfect--I actually have a little bit of wiggle room in the midsection, which I prefer, but I could've also gotten away with a 4 if I wanted a tighter fit around my legs. I purchased the curfew color and love it--they do show some sweat, but nothing overwhelming (and I typically don't care about that stuff anyway)--but, if you're self-conscious about that then I'd go with the black.

  • Absolutely no riding up or sagging down, even with the pockets stuffed! And they are so comfortable.

Outstanding performance

I purchased these shorts last month and have completed many long runs in them by now. Even when I'm out running for 3+ hours, these shorts stay dry, stay put, and stay comfortable. The features are wonderful. The back zip pocket is large enough to fit my iphone 6+ securely with no bouncing.

At 5'5", 128 lbs., I seem to be right in between sizes for Oiselle bottoms.
For these shorts, I went with a size 6 but really gave the drawstring a good tug. I'll order a size 4 next time. The "Curfew Blue" is as shown. It's a lovely color that is dark enough to hide sweat and dirt, too. You will love these!

True to the Hype

I've run a couple of half marathons and 20-mile training runs in these, and they're my choice for my upcoming marathon. They are the best. I usually carry 5 gels, a pouch of chews, keys, and ID: somehow they DO *NOT* BUDGE or lead to any chafing. (And also, that's just putting three of the pockets to partial use.) The length is not so short that I have to keep pulling them down, but short enough that I don't feel like I have a ton of fabric wrapped around my legs. They fit perfectly around my waist, and I like that the rise is high enough to hit just at my belly button.

The number of pockets is amazing. I wore these during a marathon a few weeks ago and comfortably held all of my gels, my phone, and my keys without feeling like a ridiculous human suitcase - I never knew any of it was even there till I needed it.

My one request for improvement would be that the fabric itself isn't as compression-like as other shorts I've worn - While the shorts definitely stay in place when I'm running, I'd still like them to feel a little tighter.

Looking forward to more colors and patterns!

Long Run Perfection

I found Oiselle when training for a marathon and needed pockets. (Seriously, why is this such a hard thing?!) Enter the Roga short. It had pockets and more pockets (hello Toolbelt!). But running long meant buttering up with Body Glide to avoid leg chaffing. Then I found the Strider short. No chaffing but only one itsy bitsy pocket. This year I was pretty psyched to see my two favorite shorts had married and made the perfect long run offspring. No chaffing AND pockets! Oh, the pockets. GU, salt packs, car keys, phone, extra hair ties, gloves, you name it, it will fit. They hold everything, they don't ride up and no need to pray I'll find some good Samaritan with Vasoline at the 20th mile. I bought two pairs. I anticipate I'll need more.

Perfect!

I just got back from a 4 mile run and wore these shorts for the first time- they are amazing! Only one run and I'm sold. I love all of the pockets and they are just the right length. I thought they might be a bit too short because I was wearing Under Armour's 7 compression shorts, but they are perfect. I was deciding between these and the longer pocket jogger shorts, but the 4.7" inseam works great. No riding up and no chafing! I can't wait to run longer in them!

  • Pockets and length
  • Just a side note- I have the black color and it was only a semi-hot day and after my run I could see sweat outlines at the band in the back and in the crotch area. Not too big of a deal. I would still buy them again.

Fantastic Shorts

Glad I bought these. I was looking for something that was in-between short-shorts and capris for 40-50 degree weather. These are great! They stay put, and I feel confident that nothing is going to fly out of the pockets. I'm usually a Medium and a size 6, and the size 6 in these fit perfectly.

Buying Another Pair

I am always looking for shorts that don’t ride up and have pockets. Should be easy, but I had given up hope as impossible. I did find another kind from A*****a, but the fabric was thick and clammy in the Texas heat and humidity. These are absolutely perfect. Perfect! Holds a ton. Stays put. Nice fabric—even when wet. Drawstring. Well, back to ordering more . . .

Get these!

I don’t have enough amazing things to say about these shorts. All. The. Pockets. Deep pockets. Zip pockets. Tiny pockets. Pockets for snacks and phones and keys and hats. (Yes. Hats.) I have that weird post-baby body (does this term still count even though my youngest is three?). I fluctuate size-wise other places anywhere between a 6 and a 10 (5’6, 145-150lbs, loves cookies), so I got an 8. It. Is. Perfect. Lots of give for that time of the month when I bloat and lots of support otherwise. Great in TX heat (read: I sweat buckets). Doesn’t roll up on my thighs and no dreaded front or back wedgies for me. If you get any shorts, get these!

No ride during the ride!

I've never worn fitted running shorts out on runs, but I thought I'd give these a shot. They're in the running for my favorite shorts! I can't wait to wear them on the trails this summer. They were the perfect length, didn't move or ride up and I pretty much forgot about them altogether. I stuck a bunch of stuff in the pockets just to see how they held up and I never had to adjust them. I want them in every color!

Perfection

I did exactly what you're not supposed to do, wear them for a marathon before testing them on a long run first. My original package got lost, so my new shorts did arrive until a few days before my marathon. I tested them out on a 2-mile run, and they felt pretty good so I decided to take a chance and wear them for my marathon.

They were perfect! So comfortable, no chafing, enough pockets to hold all of my nutrition and my phone. They're just the right length so there was no thigh rubbing but short enough to stay cool. I pretty much want to only wear these shorts now.

Humidity Tested + Approved!

I was so excited about this style - finally wore it for my run today and it was perfection! Had an iphone in one side pocket and never felt it nor had ride up for a track workout. HIGHLY recommend! (note: I didn't find these "compressive" but I wasn't looking for that - just the tighter style so there's no sticking/shifting when the shorts get wet in 100% humidity and these were perfect!)

My new jam

I’m a sucker for fitted running shorts and these might be my new favorite. The rise, length, and material are great. I wish they were a bit more compressive, but overall a win!

Favorite shorts by a mile

These shorts make me think I can have it all: utility, fit and fashion. Pockets to spare , without feeling like I’ve got a duffle bag strapped around my waist, snug fit - just high enough waisted and no chaffing or riding up, and the first post-baby shorts that make me feel GOOD!

Bought the size 6 and am going back in for more.
