Reflective Vim Jacket
Vim Jacket! Beloved from the beginning, it's a staple in the line, embraced as a go-to lightweight shell, specifically designed for running and walking outdoors. Featuring our stay-safe reflective mesh, at chest, back, sleeves; plus a little brand magic - with a clipped logo on the rear. Other elements remain intact, including the premium windproof and water resistant fabric from Pertex™, adjustable hem and hood, full zip hand pockets, plus self-storage front pocket with elastic strap for easy carrying when the miles heat up!
This fits me like a glove. I ordered a small - 5'6" 130 and it's perfect for me. I can get a long sleeve thick shirt underneath for warmth during the winter months 20 - 30 degrees running and it's light enough to wear when it's 50 degrees.
Had a 25k this weekend at Palo Duro Canyon, so I was expecting some big temperature fluctuations. It was in the low 50s at the start of the race, with temps climbing into the 80s. This was the perfect layer (over a wazzie wool tank and roll-with-it tights) for the first two miles. Was able to ball it up and zip it into its carrying pouch while on the move and wore it on my arm with the elastic strap until I hit the 5.5 mile aid station gear drop box. It was perfect! Surprisingly warm for how light it is. It also kept the chill out the next morning while I cooked my family breakfast at our campsite.
I love this jacket for those runs you don’t know if it’s gonna rain or not.
Light & small to easily bring with me!
Never had I tested it while heavy rain. I must admit I got a tiny bit wet on my back and chest, but it was a huge rain though! I would recommend, I would buy a new one & I would love to share these pics. :)
I originally bought the Vim many years ago and it was finally time to replace mine. Was really happy to see the colors are just as pretty. I love how lightweight this layer is, it's really easy to pack with you an extra "emergency layer." When in doubt, I bring it along and it's perfect when you need an extra layer between you and the elements. It's great against nasty wind and I'd say it's rain/water resistant, not a full waterproof layer, but it's still very good at keeping your core and body drier and warmer. For reference, I'm a size 2/4 and XS/S in Oiselle depending, and the XS fit perfect with room to comfortably wear a wool or other mid-layer underneath.
