How to Care for Your Running Clothes
Running clothes are designed to go the distance! Having said that, you can extend their mileage with a little TLC. All Oiselle apparel is designed to be able to hold up in both standard washing machine and dryer cycles - with minimal shrinkage or fabric change. Having said that, you will extend the life of your apparel by doing the following:
- Washing with like colors
- Wash inside out
- Make sure zippers are shut
- Machine wash cold
- Line dry
- Elastic material is particularly susceptible to heat from the dryer.
Elastics are garment openings, such as the chest band of a sports bra, as well as in fabrics with Lycra or Spandex. After repeated washings and dryings, elastics eventually become brittle and will then start to break down. The breaking down of elastic is often what causes chafing and/or irritation of the skin. Line drying clothes with elastic material will help extend their lifetime, and prevent skin irritation.
