BANANA SPLIT SHORTS
Split. Leg. Shorts. You've been wanting them, we've been listening. Okay, some of you have been wanting them (badly), and well, you know us: we like to give the women what they want. These start with the Roga-style waistband - wide, flat, and pocketed. The front leg panel sweeps over the rear to give these splits more coverage than the ones that feel like they might set sail. Made from our Roga fabric, the 4-way stretch gives extra ease and movement.
- Roga Stretch Woven (polyester / spandex)
- Plya Interlock Waistband (polyester / spandex)
- built-in technical liner
- rear zip pocket
- 4" inseam (all sizes)
Great short for running or hiking.. Love to wear them on days I pair a run with a lift as the split leg gives way more “freedom”. I own three pairs—definitely my favorite Oiselle short. (And I’m a shorts person!) Fit is on point and consistent with other O shorts that I own.
I'm a runner and have a lot of different high-end running shorts. These are my new favorite. Not long, not too short, covers the inner thighs to prevent chaffing and also has room for movement. I'd take these over any other running shorts on the market. For size reference I'm 5'6 130-135 lbs 35 in bust, 28 in waist, 37 in hips, and bought a size 4 and they fit perfectly. I like my running clothes fitted and these are, without being too small. A size 6 would be a looser fit.
I don’t usually leave reviews but when I saw this product didn’t have 5 stars I had to chime in. They are my favorite!
These are awesome for those of us with small waists and big legs. While I run these feel breezy like super short shorts but they do have a bit more coverage, and for me they chafe less than other kinds of shorts! I used to think that I could only run in tight shorts due to chafing issues, but these have changed my mind. I also am a fan of the huge back pocket for phones and food. I wear a size 2 in everything Oiselle (5'4'', 115 lbs, carry my weight in my legs) and these are no exception.
I’ll start this review by saying that I’m a guy who has been running competitively for 12+ years. I’ve worn a lot of split shorts in my time. As I’ve gotten older and run solo more often, I’m not a fan of the split shorts that leave your butt hanging out there. It’s one thing when I’m in a group but I don’t like it as much when I’m by myself. I had a friend recommend Oiselle, talking about how nice their apparel is. Well these shorts certainly live up. They are very comfortable (why don’t men’s shorts come with the wide waste bands?), are well made and look good. The material is maybe a little thick for a hot summer day but are perfect for fall/spring weather. Sizing was tricky for me. Per the size guide, I should be a 6 to 8 but honestly I think 4 fits better (for reference I’m 5’10”, 155 lbs with a 30” waist). Oiselle was very helpful with the return and all in all was great to work with. Highly recommend, even for other guys out there.
These shorts make me want to throw out all my others pairs and just stock up on these. I’m usually a 5” inseam girl but these are somehow perfect. The slit is not too revealing, and it makes running in them a dream. For reference I’m a 4 in tights, in between a 4 and 6 in shorts, and 4 in these fits perfectly.
These shorts are amazing. I ordered one pair last month and I now only want to wear those for all my runs, I need more colors! I have several other Oiselle shorts, and I thought they were amazing, but these fit better than any other. They are so comfortable and perfect for summer. They don't ride up, don't get in your way, and are super flattering. The liner makes the fit feel secure, I thought they would feel exposing with the side split, but I don't even think about it.
For reference I am 5'6 and 120 and bought the size 2. I thought they would be on the tighter fit, but they are actually perfect, I think the size 4 would have been too loose in the waist. This is the same size I wear in Oiselle tights, but I think they feel a tiny bit looser then other pocket jogger shorts I have.
I am 5'2, 120 lb, and have very large thighs from years of distance hiking and ultrarunning. Honestly, most women's shorts have an inseam that is way too short for me and makes me feel uncomfortable due to my larger upper legs. I ordered these Banana Split Shorts for a distance hike on my horizon and wore them for the first time on a 20-mile day with more than 5.5K feet of vert and numerous stream crossings. It poured rain most of the day. These shorts not only stayed put, but they performed beautifully. No inner seam in the thigh means no chafing either.
I typically prefer a long inseam and wear strictly spandex, but I was wanting something a little looser to allow for some breathing during the hot and humid (and often rainy) summer months of training. I'm so stoked to have found these shorts. The split leg design means women with bigger thighs have plenty of room to maneuver. Range of motion is never limited in these shorts.
I bought a size 4 and on my 5'2", 120 lb frame, even with my huge thighs, these shorts fit like a dream. They're a little looser in the waist than I'm used to, but it doesn't matter because they're comfortable. I'll more than likely buy a second pair!
