BANANA SPLIT SHORTS
Split. Leg. Shorts. You've been wanting them, we've been listening. Okay, some of you have been wanting them (badly), and well, you know us: we like to give the women what they want. These start with the Roga-style waistband - wide, flat, and pocketed. The front leg panel sweeps over the rear to give these splits more coverage than the ones that feel like they might set sail. Made from our Roga fabric, the 4-way stretch gives extra ease and movement.
- Roga Stretch Woven (polyester / spandex)
- Plya Interlock Waistband (polyester / spandex)
- built-in technical liner
- rear zip pocket
- 4" inseam (all sizes)
These shorts make me want to throw out all my others pairs and just stock up on these. I’m usually a 5” inseam girl but these are somehow perfect. The slit is not too revealing, and it makes running in them a dream. For reference I’m a 4 in tights, in between a 4 and 6 in shorts, and 4 in these fits perfectly.
These shorts are amazing. I ordered one pair last month and I now only want to wear those for all my runs, I need more colors! I have several other Oiselle shorts, and I thought they were amazing, but these fit better than any other. They are so comfortable and perfect for summer. They don't ride up, don't get in your way, and are super flattering. The liner makes the fit feel secure, I thought they would feel exposing with the side split, but I don't even think about it.
For reference I am 5'6 and 120 and bought the size 2. I thought they would be on the tighter fit, but they are actually perfect, I think the size 4 would have been too loose in the waist. This is the same size I wear in Oiselle tights, but I think they feel a tiny bit looser then other pocket jogger shorts I have.
I am 5'2, 120 lb, and have very large thighs from years of distance hiking and ultrarunning. Honestly, most women's shorts have an inseam that is way too short for me and makes me feel uncomfortable due to my larger upper legs. I ordered these Banana Split Shorts for a distance hike on my horizon and wore them for the first time on a 20-mile day with more than 5.5K feet of vert and numerous stream crossings. It poured rain most of the day. These shorts not only stayed put, but they performed beautifully. No inner seam in the thigh means no chafing either.
I typically prefer a long inseam and wear strictly spandex, but I was wanting something a little looser to allow for some breathing during the hot and humid (and often rainy) summer months of training. I'm so stoked to have found these shorts. The split leg design means women with bigger thighs have plenty of room to maneuver. Range of motion is never limited in these shorts.
I bought a size 4 and on my 5'2", 120 lb frame, even with my huge thighs, these shorts fit like a dream. They're a little looser in the waist than I'm used to, but it doesn't matter because they're comfortable. I'll more than likely buy a second pair!
The material and style is spot on. These shorts are do freaking comfortable, soft, cute. However, the fit of the actual short and the liner don't line up. The liner is too loose for the shorts causing them to move around significantly while running. I tried sizing down, but that made the liner a tiny bit smaller than desirable and the actual over short was too small. I really hope you can fix this issue, because I would buy them in every color.
Like the other reviews...on point: fabric, pocket, design/banana split look. What was not the fit - I tried on and the back seemed to/would ride up if I run. Also, I have a small behind and because the design of the shorts hugged/were too flat against my butt, the shorts seemed to make my butt look even flatter. It almost seemed too tight in the back area? I did not test them out for running because then I would not be able to return the shorts. Just from trying on I could tell the fit was off/was not as comfy as running shorts I own/love (Lulu Hotty Hot and tracker sz 4 and Oiselle Roga shorts sz 4). For reference I am 5'2", 130lbs and typically the roga shorts and pocket joggers sz 4 fit great.
Very lightweight and comfortable. The length is good in the back, but they rode up in the front pretty bad during my 2 mile run, so that was disappointing. I bought a size 4, but I think I would’ve been okay with a 2. I have muscular legs, but these felt big.
The Banana Split Shorts are BY FAR my favorite Oiselle running shorts - I've tried and liked other models (Rogas, Summer Rogas, Long Rogas, Pocket Shorts), but Banana Splits are top of the list! Would love to see more colors - I have the black and red and want the navy but they are out of stock. No rubbing, flattering fit, cool and airy without being overly exposed and best of all the pocket in back holds my iphone XS Max!! For reference, I'm 5'11, 133 and wear a 4 in these. They fit true to size vs. other Oiselle bottoms I have owned.
I was hesitant to buy these shorts as my thighs rub right at the apex. In the past, loose shorts like these always rode up and created an unfortunate look and my thighs would chafe. So I tend to get compression/tight shorts as they won't move. But I gave it shot because I did like how high the side splits were. After an 8 mile run in the 6am summer weather, I can say that I love these shorts!
For reference, I am 5'4" 130lb. I usually get a size 10 in the Pocket Jogger Shorts but for these I got a size 8 and they fit pretty good.
P.S. Oiselle can you add more colors?! <3
