I have been going through the “change “ and for some reason I have been so cold for every run from 35 degrees or colder to the point where I had to use hand warmers in my gloves. So I went online doing some research and found these mittens. It had great reviews but I was still nervous . So on my first day wearing them I still packed my hand warmers in my coat pocket just in case of an emergency and ran 12 miles 28degrees and my fingers were so toasty. I am so happy! So if you are dealing with cold hands splurge and buy these mittens they are amazing. Thanks Oiselle for making these amazing mittens.
Freezing temperatures dominate my region from Nov through April and, due to poor circulation in my hands, I couldn’t run outside during that timeframe. As a last ditch effort, I researched and bought these gloves; they saved my outdoor winter runs! Breathable (occasionally very strong winds still felt), not bulky, and WARM—I now swear by these! I actually forgot what a lifesaver they are, they’ve been my go-to for a year now; I recently miscalculated the windchill on a chilly day, going for a run without the gloves, and paid for it for the hour afterwards, trying to get blood back into my fingers.
I really appreciate that these gloves are actually a s/m for sizing, and they're relatively thin for the apparent warmth. As someone with (really, really) small hands, it's wonderful to finally have mittens that allow for some dexterity. Have only worn casually thus far, but in damp 30-degree weather, my hands were pleasantly comfortable tucked in these guys. Will probably hold off on wearing these for runs until temps dip into the 20s, or we see significant precipitation or winds. Looking forward to the extra long cuffs keeping my wrists warm on those days, too! That said, I'm super disappointed that one of the seams on the interior lining of the mitten came with a hole in it. I received these as a gift so no receipt to just exchange. Something I can sew up myself for sure, but won't be quite as smooth a seam due to how the fix will need to be done. Would have been an issue if I noticed after a wash, since all the filling would have just washed right out.
These mittens are great! I have Raynauds and my hands are usually freezing. Typically, I wear mittens with a pair of gloves underneath and with these, I didn't double glove at all and my hands were sweating! They seemed thin when I opened them, so I didn't expect them to be very warm, but they were wonderful and without being bulky/heavy. Definitely recommend.
I absolutely love these mittens, but reserve them for runs in 15 degrees F. They're also great for general use! For slightly warmer runs, I rely on the Lux gloves.
I didn't think these could possibly match my double-layer Ragg wool mittens but they do. I have to wear mittens in the winter--no gloves do the job of keeping my hands warm--and am shocked at how well these lightweight ones work. They're relatively sleek for a true winter mitten.
My hands are ALWAYS cold, and I usually need liner gloves plus mittens. I bought the Super Puff Mittens a while ago and hesitated about wearing them on cold days because they seemed too thin and lightweight to really be warm. Finally took a chance and wore them (without liner gloves) on a cold snowy day. They were amazing--kept my hands warm the entire time! They are soft inside and a little stretchy too--very comfortable. I'm so impressed! Please offer these mittens in more colors!
As other reviewers have noted, these are almost too warm. My hands are always cold so I usually wear gloves + ragg wool mittens when running. Only need these mittens now. But they do get super hot and clammy. The clamminess is worriesome when I cool down, like if I stop to chat with neighbors on my run. Also, I have large but not huge hands, and the thumb space for the L/XL isn't quite long enough for me. That makes the thumbs get cold when the rest of the hand is still toasty. Otherwise, the material and fit of these mittens is stellar. Agree with another reviewer who asked for pants in this material, please!
