Jane John Base Layer
Pair this top with the Jane John Long Johns, or wear it solo... either way, you win. Made from our best-selling Wazzie Wool, the knit is Merino, with just enough Spandex for stretch. The fit of the top is body hugging without being clingy, with a wide contrast collar. Ideal for wearing under outer layers, Jane Johns are ready for sports, sweat, and staying outside. Wazzie Wool is also washer-dryer friendly, meaning it will wash up easy, never shrinking or changing. Our wool is responsibly sourced from New Zealand and is ZQ Certified.
in mid-30s*F weather on an easy 3-5 miles, this is the absolute perfect under layer. I wear this plus a light windbreaker jacket or vest, plus gloves and an ear warmer and am as happy as can be. I wear a size 10 in tops and the L is nicely fitted without being skin tight (and tucks nicely into pants for colder days to keep the wind out). It also nicely keeps sweat away so you don't feel "swampy" in cold weather once you start to sweat, like I do with some other "wool" running tops from other running brands. Wore this three times for runs and once for a hike and came back and ordered another two. BIG fan of this for cold weather.
I wore this for my recent marathon with the marathon tee layered over it (not about to pin a bib to this beauty!). The weather was 40 degrees at the start and almost 70 at the finish line and I was never too cold or hot. I had zero chaffing and zero discomfort. Wore with my the Flyout bra and had no chaffing or discomfort at all. The shirt was even efficient for frequent nose wipes (it was windy and chilly!) and it dried super quickly. Washed well and smells great. I’m usually a size small and ordered this in a 4 in the blue with black sleeves. Fit is very slim and flattering. The wool is soft and stretchy and just the right weight to wear under layers in cold months or on its own on chilly mornings or cooler weather runs. This one’s a winner.
