I love this run shorts with pockets

Go-To Shorts

As of July, these are my go-to shorts. I wore Basic Bird Long Shorts during a Ragnar race weekend, and was so pleased with their performance. They stay in place perfectly and I've had zero problems with these riding up. The rise is great, because I can pair comfortably with a crop without baring any midriff. I bought these in both Juniper and Ink Blue at first, and added a third pair of Ink Blue last week because I keep reaching for these for my workouts!

Feels like you're wearing a hot water bottle against your back

I love the fit of these for going on a walk or doing Pilates. For running, no. The pocket arrangement at the back waistband is so thick that it makes that part of your body extra hot on a run. I thought overall the fabric was too thick, particularly around the waistband. I will say, that they didn't move on my run at all, and they look great on. Great length for avoiding thigh chafe. I wouldn't recommend.

Excellent material, slightly too high-waisted for me

Aside from being slightly too high-waisted for me (I find myself rolling the top down because it cuts into my skin) these shorts are the exact weight and length I was looking for. This is my second pair, purchased years apart, and my first pair are not this high in the waist. Keeping them since they are the ideal weight and length -would love to see more mid-waist options.
