LONG FLYTE SHORTS
These babies have the same wide knit waistband construction as the Flyte Shorts, but with a longer inseam. Designed to be worn as shorts, but easily wearable under other layers, Long Flyte Shorts are the ideal seamless style. Our classic bird flock adds a bit of branding - and bird levity!
- Arque™ Compression (polyester/nylon/elastane)
- seamless compression short
- wicking + anti-odor treatment
- bird + oiselle graphic knit at right side of leg
- 5" inseam (all sizes)
My legs are strong, but they're the part of me I'm self conscious about so I've always resisted shorts for either fashion or athletic clothes and gone with knee length or longer. These are amazing though!! The fabric and fit works in such a way that it's like wearing nothing, except without any feeling of not being publicly presentable LoL I hope Oiselle tries this fabric in full length leggings - would love some for fall/mild winter days when I like leggings more for the dry scratchy grass coverage on trails than for added warmth!
I love these shorts so much. I’m tall with larger thighs and have trouble finding shorts that won’t make me chafe, and these are my solution. I wear them almost every summer run and they sometimes ride up a bit, but never enough to be annoying, chafe, or make me feel like I need to tug them down. Also, once they find their spot even if they do ride up a bit, they stay put. They are so light and feel so good even when it’s very hot. They only have one flaw — PLEASE give us a pocket! Just one pocket! Don’t change a thing except one, single pocket. I can’t wear these on long runs because there’s nowhere to store a gel or even put a key. Short runs I just tie a key to a shoe and pray it doesn’t fall off. If these had pockets, I would buy a dozen pairs. Twenty pairs. Even so, though, can’t recommend these shorts enough.
I first ordered a pair of these in a medium since I tend to wear a 6 or 8 in Oiselle bottoms. The medium was comfy, but a bit loose in the middle and the legs kept riding up when I tried them out on a run. I recently tried a small and they were perfect for running - no riding up whatsoever. Still comfy with plenty of stretch!
I purchased these because I was looking for a closer fitting pair of shorts. These were too large in the waist but had the right tightness on the thigh. I normally wear a 10 in Oiselle bottoms and ordered a medium in these, but the waist was still too big. I never ran in them and felt like they would slide down just trying them on. Returning them.
I have been looking for a great pair of tight shorts. I love the birds so decided to finally try them when they were on sale. The fabric is not as soft as I expected, but it is comfortable and light and feels cool for summer, however they kept riding up. I'll probably keep them for other activities but they just didn't work for me for running. I'm 5'7" 142lb 39in hips and bought the black size 8. Other reviews said they didn't ride up so maybe it's different on different body shapes. They are cute though so they might be worth a shot if these kind of shorts work good for you.
I tried to run in these today and couldn't even reach the end of the block! I had to immediately head home because the leg had rolled up to my crotch, defeating the purpose of the long leg. I was concerned that they might slide down because the waist is so loose, but I didn't have that issue. I guess they can be used as bike shorts, but they aren't especially soft to wear, so now I have shorts that I don't have much use for.
these are great, lightweight shorts that don’t run up. however they run a bit large. i’m a size 8 and the medium was quite roomy!
I bought these because I needed something to wear under running shorts, that are consistently too short for my tall frame with a booty (I'm 5'11"), and because I love the rest of the Flyte collection. Also, because I love the blaze color and deeply regret missing it on the shirts.
The material is nice and seamless, as expected. Comfy. The waist band is super comfortable, not too high (I do wish it was a tad lower but that's not an issue). The length is great for my usage.
They run big, so in my regular size 6, there is no compression (not sure if they're supposed to have compression?) and they feel juuust on the verge of being too large, but not quite. In short, I barely feel like I'm wearing them (which is good). However, the back of the waistband is lower than the front on me, because, well, I have a booty.
I wore them on a short run, under a pair of rogas that I bought at the same time. They worked great. They didn't move, didn't ride up, and didn't bother me. I like the flash of color. It's a bit of a too-many-layers syndrome, worn like that, but the flyte shorts are the best for this, since the waist band is very flat and they have seamless construction.
I wouldn't wear them on their own, though. Maybe it's the fact that i'm not built like a runner, maybe it's the fact that they aren't black, or the fact that I can barely feel them. YMMV!
I wish Oiselle would come up with a 2-in-one short. In the meantime, these are a great alternative, and I will definitely enjoy wearing them at home on a hot day too.
