ROLL WITH IT BIRD HUG TIGHTS
"What if we could have tights without the waistband squeeze, and the ability to customize the rise?" That's the question the O design team asked, and these tights are the answer. First, they're in our beloved Bird Hug fabric, known for its unparalleled softness. But it's the waistband that's truly novel. With no elastic, and an extra high panel/rise that can be left high, or can be rolled down to any height desired. Though these might not be be your go-fast tights, the soft compression keeps it all in place for most of life's adventures, both indoor and out. Plus reversible! Two times the fun.
- bird hug reversible fabric (polyester / spandex)
- high waist with roll over waistband
- reversible design
- 25.5" inseam (size 4)
I had been struggling to find comfortable maternity tights as a lot of the maternity-specific tights I find to be itchy and sometimes too tight on the belly and then uncomfortable in the crotch area, too. Anyway, I read a couple reviews by other pregnant women (thank you for your posts!) about these, and decided to give them a try. I'm so, so, so glad I did. I normally (pre-pregnancy) wear a 4 in Roga shorts and a 6 in Oiselle tights (5'4", 125lbs, typical "runner body type" pre-pregnancy). I went with the 6 in these and they fit me even at my current 150+ pounds. The material is very stretchy but still light and not too thick, so it doesn't feel annoying on my stomach. I can wear it up over my stomach or rolled down and it's equally comfortable. The crotch is fine, have been wearing them and haven't had any problems with sagging. They're a touch long/loose at the ankles since I'm on the short side, but because they're reversible I can just fold them up and it looks fine. I'm not sure I can wear any other pants during my pregnancy now! And I can tell they will be good for post-partum as well.
So glad I found these but wish I had sooner! I am now 28 weeks pregnant and I’ve been on the search for comfortable no waist pinch leggings - and these are it! I’m not a fan of the over belly only maternity tights, so these with the folded waist band are perfect. Super soft. Comfy for both every day wear and they stay up running, with minimal adjustments. I received my first pair and after wearing them 1 day and running once, I went on and got a second color ASAP. I am 5’9” and 150 lbs (mostly belly; I was 135 before pregnancy with straight/Lean body type and small thighs) and size 6 is great. Only wish: that these would be made in a winter weight!! I run in Michigan winters and fleece lined would be amazing!!
These are amazingly comfortable! I highly recommend these to anyone who deals with pelvic or abdominal pain. I have endometriosis, and as a result, my pelvis and abdomen is sometimes very painfully swollen, and it hurts to have anything on my waist at all. Regular waist bands make the pain worse. The waist on these tights is absolutely perfect. It’s so nice to find leggings that accommodate this chronic condition. I’m 5’5”, 120 lbs, a size 4 fits very nicely. I don’t have any issues with the tights sliding, as other reviewers have mentioned.
I’ve loved oiselle for a long time, but the tights never worked for me. I’m an athletic hourglass, 5’5” and I normally wear a 4 in the roga shorts. For whatever reason I’ve always had an aversion to compression around my waist, so oiselle tights generally don’t work. But these are amazing. They are buttery soft and the roll down feature gives me control over how I want them to sit on my waist. I got them yesterday,, wore them all day and took them for an easy 3 mile run. They worked equally well for lounging and running (I’m no speedster though, so a fast flyer might have more trouble keeping them up. For me they were perfect. A little chilly but it was 25 degrees and I don’t think any of my other tights would have been any better). I’ll be back for another pair shortly.
Sadly these are not the same for as my other bird hug leggings which are simply the best! The waistband in these will not stay up no matter what. If I walk around for just a few minute the crotch is sagging a good 3 inches lower than where it should be. Do I still wear them because I love the purple color? Yes. Do I complain about them every time I wear them? Also yes. I would wholeheartedly recommend the other bird hug legging style but sadly couldn’t recommend these.
I'm 5'5", 115 and a curvy athletic build and a size 2 or sometimes a 4 in Oiselle. The waist on these came almost to my sports bra and very loose. Even folded down the waist and hip area felt way too big. The folded waist also rolls back up. The fabric is lovely feeling, but probably the issue in these tights.
I really wanted these to work for me bc I am obsessed with my bird hug bra! Sadly, the convertible high waist band just did not work for my body shape. I have a pear shaped body and am 5'7", ~200 lbs, with a little post partum tummy. I normally wear a 12, but I sized down to a 10, and I honestly might have been able to go with an 8. The waistband did not feel secure enough for me to wear lounging or for running/yoga. I returned with the hopes the other waist band in the bird hug fabric will work... if they restock the black/green color I love. :)
Honestly. These redefine butter soft. I feel like I’m sending my legs to the spa when I put them on! They are insanely warm, but when I run in them, I’m not overheated. I was reluctant to by them for running as I didn’t think they would stay up, and thought they would just be comfortable loungewear, but now I realize I need a few more pairs because I love them equally for comfy days and for hard runs. I am usually a 6 in Lululemon, small in Nike, and am a 2 in these, so I would probably advise to size down.
