TRACK STAR SHORTS
Our first ever two-in-one shorts, this design has a lot of functionality in a very simple package. Instead of a traditional running short liner, the base layer is our Plya Compression (so think booty short), with the semi-fitted layer over the top. The waistband is our classic flat and pocketed design, but the side pockets are the true design breakthrough. The side leg pockets, with the opening on the outside, are attached to the compression bottom underneath, rather than the outerlayer. The upshot: when moving or running, objects in the side pockets stay secure against your leg vs. bouncing around. Power to the pockets!
- Roga Stretch Woven (polyester / spandex)
- Plya Interlock waistband (polyester / spandex)
- infinity drawcord
- rear zip pocket
- interior attached compression shorts
- side leg pockets
- 4" shorts inseam
- 2.25" compression short inseam
Love the look of these, but for me I prefer the brief lining in the banana splits or Rogas over the compression shorts featured in these. However, if you like having compression shorts under your shorts or skirt, these will probably be a top favorite! The deep side pocket is great. I'm a size 2 and I think the length and fit of the outside layer fits very similar to the Rogas.
I love these shorts. They hold my iPhone perfectly. I can also fit a narrow water bottle or full-size can of bear spray (for isolated trail runs) in a side pocket as well. I wonder if people who’ve had trouble with their phones pulling the shorts down should have sizes down. For reference, my hips are 35”, and high hip (where waistband sits) is 31”. I bought the 2, and they fit beautifully with zero sliding, even when loaded with bear spray, keys, and a phone.
I want to love these shorts. I had a previous pair (by another brand) with the same inner compression short that I loved. Unfortunately, I haven't found the perfect replacement with these. I ordered a size 2 and 4. The 2 inseam was too short and the 4 slides down if I put anything significant in the pocket like a phone. The fabric is also heavy for DC summers.
I am currently on the injured bench, the VERY injured bench-CRUTCHES! I actually wash these shorts out in the sink so I can wear them again the next day. The 3 pockets are amazing and hold everything. I load up in the kitchen with all the snacks, seltzer, etc and crutch back to the couch. Also the interior compression shorts are totally great and not too bulky. I am not usually a fan of the shorts within the shorts but you hardly know these are there but still feel supportive. These are also great for PT as people are moving and manipulating your leg. The inside shorts add a little extra coverage. I generally wear a 2 in O shorts. These fit well but are on the bigger side. They will be great shorts for shorter easy runs when the post injury day comes :)
I just wore these running (5 miles) for the first time and LOVED them! It was a HOT and humid 90 degree day - so I wanted to carry some things: 1. my tiny 6oz water bottle. 2. my car key since I drove to a local bike path for shade. 3. my phone - of course. My phone and tiny water bottle stayed put in each of the side pockets (I know some people have mentioned that their phone jumps out of the side pocket - my phone has one of those rubber card holders on it, so I don't know if that helped it stay put or not, but honestly I felt it would have stayed without it anyway because my 6oz water bottle stayed put in the other side pocket just fine. I felt that my car key was very secure in the back zipped pocket - plus I loved that it had a little tab making it easier to grab. I should note that after reading other reviews I ordered a size down from my normal. I have Oiselle's pocket jogger shorts in a size 4 and those fit fine, but I ordered these shorts in a size 2 and they were perfect. I'm 5'3" and 120lbs. I was so obsessed with these shorts that I just ordered the other other colors! They're on the pricier end for me (it is Oiselle), but the quality really is there and I respect the company's values. I want to spend my $ at companies with good values that sell solid quality products. Thanks Oiselle for a great short!
My phone iPhone X has flown out of the side pocket of these shorts multiple times, and doesn’t fit nicely in the back witb the case on.
Also, similar to another review, the phone pocket weighs down the shorts and almost exposes you to the neighborhood
If you like pockets you can’t use, these are probably your dream shorts
These are so flattering, comfortable and best of all the pockets work great! I keep my phone in the back pocket (iPhone 7 plus) and it’s a tight fit but I like the security of a zip pocket, and it works! The side pockets are also secure enough for other items like keys, lip balm etc. I ran an 8 miler yesterday and was so comfy the whole time. I’m 113 lbs and wear a 26 in jeans and got the 2 - fits perfectly. I wish they were $10 cheaper but I’ll splurge on another pair.
I bought one pair of these shorts, and love love love them so much that i just ordered the other two colors! So many great things. The booty shorts underneath are so comfy, I don’t even notice them. These don’t ride up between my legs at all. They really stay put. I love the phone pocket! My phone fits fine with a case. It’s a perfect fit so that it doesn’t bounce around much. Today when I ran I totally forgot I had my phone with me. The only tricky thing is the infinity drawcord. I never have good luck with these. I pull it tight when I start my run, but it does not stay. The first day I ran in these, the phone was definitely pulling them down. Now I use a safety pin to hold the string together so it can’t loosen. I never want to run in another pair of shorts again! The outside pockets are great too! Nice and deep for keys or money, or even dog treats when you are walking the pup! I would highly recommend!
