BANANA SPLIT SHORTS
Split. Leg. Shorts. You've been wanting them, we've been listening. Okay, some of you have been wanting them (badly), and well, you know us: we like to give the women what they want. These start with the Roga-style waistband - wide, flat, and pocketed. The front leg panel sweeps over the rear to give these splits more coverage than the ones that feel like they might set sail. Made from our Roga fabric, the 4-way stretch gives extra ease and movement.
- Roga Stretch Woven (polyester / spandex)
- Plya Interlock Waistband (polyester / spandex)
- rear zip pocket
- 4" inseam (all sizes)
I love these shorts. They are the perfect fit and weight. They do run a little bigger than the Flyout shorts that I tried on. I am 5'7", 135 lbs and have an athletic build with a bigger bum and "muscular" thighs :). I do not have a small waist in relation to my hips, and the waistband on the size 4 was just right on these. I ended up buying the black and the blue.
I'm new to Oiselle and ordered a few styles of non-compression shorts and these are my favorite! I found these to be significantly more flattering than the Rogas on my build (5'4", 130 lbs, with hips, glutes, and thighs, 27 in jeans, size 4 in these shorts) and the split not only creates a sense of freedom, but a little bit of fun flirtiness too! I didn't experience any issues with them riding up on a 7 mile run. Please do *not* make them shorter at all! They are a perfect compromise between the Long Rogas (which I also enjoyed, but not quite as immensely) and the Rogas! If these were any shorter, they would not be nearly as flattering and would cause chafing. Glad I discovered them - will be ordering more!
Absolutely love them! The split sides make them so comfortable and flattering. I have already gotten complements on them! I just want some more colors and maybe a summer roga fabric version! I’m a size 6, and for me they fit true to size!
I bought these fun split shorts in hopes for warmer weather and freer legs. I love the general design, and cut. The length and coverage seems just about right. These are a great first version of this style of short. Love Rising Red- such a dramatic, rich color in these cute splits. I feel like a fiery, leggy beast running with these on. I think improvements could be explored in: using a more lightweight (summer roga?) fabric or adding one or two small pockets on waistband (with mesh, toolbelt roga style) for a key or nutrition.
I am a Roga superfan (long, mac, OG, summer ALL of them) and after watching one of the fun team quarantine strength routine vidoes, which featured epic athletes, creative routines AND these shorts (in red), I decided to give them a try. I didn't really get from the picture that the split is a true split, it isn't sewn on the side. I feel so cool and old school with a true fly short. They feel/play differently around the leg because they are truly open/overlapped on the side, but it is a simple matter of a new sensation, nothing bothersome or chafing. I got the dark blue and it is a really elegant, rich blue. I'm pairing with the Kara tank in white and it is fresh!
For size, I am 5'10" and 150ish pounds. I waiver between 6 and 8 in Roga's depending. For ultra's I I wear 8's because I don't want any tightness at all in the liner. For daily use and shorter runs the 6 fits and looks better. So, I got a 6 in these. They are stylin'!
I like these shorts more with every wear! I do a lot of different types of movements for training... hill sprints, plyometrics, weightlifting... and these shorts move with it all! The split keeps me from ever feeling restricted. It's functional and flattering! The fabric does ride a bit on longer runs, but during everything else... intervals, walks, and functional movements-- they're great!!
These are my favorite non-compression Oiselle shorts! They are a tad longer than Rogas, but the slit on the side doesn't make them look like it - the fit is super flattering!
I wanted to love these so bad. I am a split shorts fan girl and really wanted to add an O version to my rotation. The fabric is phenomenal. The rising sun red is GORGEOUS. But...the fit is off. I am a 4 is just about all O, and non O (27 in jeans). Tried a 4 first and comfy, but too loose - there was way too much fabric and they rode up. Tried a 2, and the liner was a smidge tight and rode up. I would love to see the fit get tweaked and maybe take them 1" shorter. There was just too much fabric :(
