TRACK STAR SHORTS
Our first ever two-in-one shorts, this design has a lot of functionality in a very simple package. Instead of a traditional running short liner, the base layer is our Plya Compression (so think booty short), with the semi-fitted layer over the top. The waistband is our classic flat and pocketed design, but the side pockets are the true design breakthrough. The side leg pockets, with the opening on the outside, are attached to the compression bottom underneath, rather than the outerlayer. The upshot: when moving or running, objects in the side pockets stay secure against your leg vs. bouncing around. Power to the pockets!
- Roga Stretch Woven (polyester / spandex)
- Plya Interlock waistband (polyester / spandex)
- infinity drawcord
- rear zip pocket
- interior attached compression shorts
- side leg pockets
- 4" shorts inseam
- 2.25" compression short inseam
My phone iPhone X has flown out of the side pocket of these shorts multiple times, and doesn’t fit nicely in the back witb the case on.
Also, similar to another review, the phone pocket weighs down the shorts and almost exposes you to the neighborhood
If you like pockets you can’t use, these are probably your dream shorts
These are so flattering, comfortable and best of all the pockets work great! I keep my phone in the back pocket (iPhone 7 plus) and it’s a tight fit but I like the security of a zip pocket, and it works! The side pockets are also secure enough for other items like keys, lip balm etc. I ran an 8 miler yesterday and was so comfy the whole time. I’m 113 lbs and wear a 26 in jeans and got the 2 - fits perfectly. I wish they were $10 cheaper but I’ll splurge on another pair.
I bought one pair of these shorts, and love love love them so much that i just ordered the other two colors! So many great things. The booty shorts underneath are so comfy, I don’t even notice them. These don’t ride up between my legs at all. They really stay put. I love the phone pocket! My phone fits fine with a case. It’s a perfect fit so that it doesn’t bounce around much. Today when I ran I totally forgot I had my phone with me. The only tricky thing is the infinity drawcord. I never have good luck with these. I pull it tight when I start my run, but it does not stay. The first day I ran in these, the phone was definitely pulling them down. Now I use a safety pin to hold the string together so it can’t loosen. I never want to run in another pair of shorts again! The outside pockets are great too! Nice and deep for keys or money, or even dog treats when you are walking the pup! I would highly recommend!
These were great—have worn them once so far, during a speedwork session. They did not ride up, and I wasn’t aware of the undershorts at all. (A good thing! I hate inner liners that draw attention to themselves while you run). The only issue for me is that I did have to pull the shorts up at the waist a couple of times; I generally prefer a more compressive or higher rise fit to avoid this. But they were definitely high enough at the waist to smooth over the usual muffin top zone, and after I worked up a sweat they stayed nicely in place. For what it’s worth, this was my first experience with Oiselle shorts and with numerically sized running gear in general. I debated getting a 6 but am happy I went with a 4 instead. A size 6 would have been too loose at the waist. (I am 5’1”, an athletic 130 lbs. 33-28-35).
I bought these specifically because I need to run with a phone. However, as comfy as these are, the phone literally weighed them down until I was almost exposing myself to the entire neighborhood! Because the phone goes in the outer pocket and isn't against your body, the weight is very odd. Couple that with the fact that these run larger than other shorts and it was a disaster waiting to happen! I can't win with the sizing with Oiselle which is very frustrating for a company I desperately WANT to like! Also, as others mentioned, these definitely ride up a lot, and the phone pocket is wayyyyy too short for any normal phone. Good thing is I can use these as comfy beach shorts, but as I bought them to run in, it's disappointing.
I'm 5'7" and 142lb. This was my first purchase from Oiselle, so I used the size chart. I would have ordered a 4, but it said I definitely need a 6. When they arrived, I was super excited. They were a bit looser in the waist and legs than some of my other running shorts, but I thought it was just because they were "real running shorts"! I wore them while I worked in the yard, and the side pocked worked great for my phone. However, I went for a couple run, and my phone literally bounced out of my pocket multiple times. I wished I had just gone with my gut and ordered the 4, as they cannot be returned now, and they aren't usable for running with a phone in the side pocket.
Light, quick drying, comfortable, breathable. And the two layer design is great.
My iPhone fits perfectly in the pocket and by some sort of witchcraft just stays put imperceptibly. Fits TTS or perhaps a *touch* large. Back for more.
I purchased another pair of Roga shorts for myself and these shorts for my 16 year old daughter. She put them on yesterday morning and proceeded to muck out 3 horse stalls, go on a long hike in the Rocky Mountains, and finished the evening playing Spike ball & volleyball in our yard. She came into the house saying how much she loved the shorts, and how comfortable and soft the material is against her legs. So, I am back ordering another pair. Thank you Oiselle for designing a great pair of shorts.
