FLYOUT WOOL SHORT SLEEVE
Known as the "Swiss Army knife" of fabric because it solves for both cold and heat. It has the magical moisture wicking properties that you know and love in our regular Flyout tops, but with the added warmth of Merino Wool. That means that in hot climates, it cools - based on its ingenious knit fabrication (which you can see, next to skin in its striped appearance). And in cold climates, it warms, based on wool's natural insulation properties. The short sleeve silhouette makes it even more versatile...solo on warm runs, or just add arm warmers or a shell.
- polyester / wool
- 24.5" body length (size 4)
- constructed with Bluesign Approved Fabrics
I have been eyeing a short sleeved wool shirt for a long time, and I finally decided to bite the bullet with this one. I loved the color (green), the fit is great, and I like the fabric. But I've washed it and worn it once, and it's already got TWO RUNS/SNAGS in it. And they aren't easily worked out by stretching out the fabric to get the threads to pull back in. I don't want a shirt that I have to be super careful wearing around possible sharp objects (like the jagged edge on my fingernail that got caught). I can't return it, but I can give you all a heads up on how fragile these shirts are. :(
Thanks for reaching out about this! We are happy to help coordinate an exchange in this case. Please look out for an email from us :)
I bought the ivory for running since I've been struggling to get my layering right in cold weather to stay dry and warm. This is perfect! I layered it under a long sleeve and it was practically dry after a 12 mile run, while the top shirt was wet with sweat. It will also work well for warm weather. The shirt seems extremely high quality and I love that Oiselle puts a tiny loop on the collar their garments to hang them on a hook after a workout. I'm convinced the people behind this company are actually athletes who wear these clothes. Yes the shirt is thin, that's what gives it those magical sweat-wicking abilities. I plan to treat it gently like any of my other delicates.
For size reference I'm 5'6 130-135 lbs 35 in bust, 28 in waist, 37 in hips, and bought a size 4. It fits perfectly. Not tight, not baggy.
I love this top--color (green), weight, fit, style. I wear size 2 in everything Oiselle and this fits as usual in a 2. It's perfect for running, mountain biking, and is even social-distanced-outing-worthy! I wish it came in the Pacific color too. I haven't had the snagging issue others mention. I'm always super-careful with my wool clothes though.
This top is super-light--not like winter wool--which makes it super-versatile. Since I run hot, it will still be great for winter/fall runs.
I love wearing my flyout wool short sleeve for runs and for hikes. It minimizes the chills I get after being drenched in sweat post workout. I cannot wait to purchase in more colors. Keep up the great work, Design team!
Wore this on a 28 degree day in Wisconsin and it was perfect! I am a warmer runner but regardless this piece was the best! For all our midwest Oiselle fans, for sure check this out! And for anyone who just wants a warm, wonderful piece of clothing-this is a need!
This shirt made me google "how to lose weight in your arms" because while the torso fit me perfectly, the arms are too tight. At first I thought this would be okay since the fabric was stretchy, but it gets less flexible the more you sweat. Also, the watch window is at...my mid forearm? Looks like I'll be fumbling with fabric after all.
As soon as I opened this shirt, I put it on and fell in love with it. It's light, solid material, soft and warm. It's just about perfect. I decided to put on my running shoes and go for a run right away and test it out. When I got back from my run, there was a snag in the shirt (it was not there when I opened the package). I had read a review prior to purchasing this top that commented on it snagging easily. I thought that the reviewer wasn't paying attention and snagged it. After running in it once, I realized quickly what the reviewer meant. Snags super easy. I'm not even sure how it happened. I run that trail at least 3 times a week and this hasn't happened with other Oiselle clothing. Broke my "running tee shirt" heart because it's seriously such a well fitted, soft, light weight top.
