Thanks for Caring!

Kara thanks for caring for other people but mostly thanks for caring for you. I also have had success with my peers in running and remember that feeling that they are watching and expecting great things. I had to stop running for them and learn to run for me. It's hard but you are there! You are mentally ready!

KG

I love how humble and truly grateful Kara is. Her love for what she does is inspiring and I'm so happy to hear that running is fun for her again. Her impact on the sport is, and will continue to be, tremendous. She has sparked a movement of confident women who run because it feels good, regardless of their competitive level. She is a role model in every sense of the term. We'll all be cheering for you on the 13th and in every other part of your storied career. Thank you, Kara, for what you've given us.

Kara, you go girl. This made me tear up. You are every person who's fought bravely against doubt, disadvantages, and insecurity. You have been fiercely loyal to your dream and there is not greater accomplishment. Head up, wings out!

Carrie Baird | February 6, 2016 at 8:54am

Kara

Kara, wishing you all the best at the Trials and "Be Strong"! Also, listening to your video a couple of times and just want to let you know that you are not old!!!!! I'm 54 and still plugging away. After having two boys in my late 30's I had some good times in me and through my 40's and late 40's with low mileage. Keep believing and ignore the negative. You are an inspiration to me and my son Cooper. Both you and Adam are great people who my son looks up to and attends and runs at Washington & Lee. So proud of you! Go Kara! Carrie

Inspiring an injured runner

The last few words of this video seriously made me smile...when I haven't in days. I'm was told 2 weeks ago tomorrow that the pain I've been having is 2 stress fractures in my left pelvis. This is seriously the only injury I've ever had, I'm 35 and have been running since I was 8. This was suppose to be my first time running Boston, well thank god I'm also qualified for 2017, but I'm now afraid that won't event happen. However now that I've heard about your injury and comeback I'm starting to have some hope. Is there any advice you can give a girl going through one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with? Also, I can't wait to see you run in the trials this Saturday, you're a true inspiration...thank you for your inspiring attitude & determination, I will try to remember this as I battle through my injury.

Ana Short | February 10, 2016 at 7:32am

Good luck!

I will be rooting for you on Saturday. Thank you for inspiring the rest of us women and moms.
