Team Update: The Volée and New Openings

We are opening a limited number of new team spots, one day only, on Friday, July 31st at 9am PST.

The backstory: Last year we introduced The Flock and were blown away by the interest. Thanks to all of you -- our community! We’ve met so many amazing women athletes from all over the world and received interest from many more. As of now, we have all 50 states represented, and some international team members. We feel we are just scratching the surface of what this community can be.

Beyond product or a singlet, the most powerful benefit we’ve heard that members love is that it’s helped them forge new connections. New long run groups. New running friends. New races, relays, and of course – post run celebrations. And for us, that’s the beauty, and the part that we want to keep fueling. Why? Because running is not just another way to stay healthy, but also a way of life - a way to feel more connected. Running is friendship with magic and meaning. With or without Oiselle, that will always be the case. But if our team can in any way help foster those friendships, we want to make it happen.

As the team grows, one of our big goals is more unity. The best way to do that is to eliminate some of the levels of membership that have been created over the years and simplify under a single team name. We’ve decided that umbrella name/community will be our beloved “Volée”, which is simply French for “flock”. This means all previous Flock and Volée members will now be under one team name, Volée, and we will ALL be #oiselleteam.

Among our current Volée, some team members have told us they want to do more. Like last year, a group of them will be designated team leaders in different regions throughout the country. The leader of the leaders is our very own Heather Stephens (aka “Feather”)! Amazing runner, coach, Oiselle employee, and all around amazing person - I’m so happy to have her leading our Volée.

Tara Caudle ran a 40 second PR and finished 3rd at the RRCA National Championship Go Mile. Post race celebration with Haute Volee Teammate, Christy Cazzola

These team leaders will do more on a regional level. From organizing meet-ups to helping share info and events from us here at The Nest, team leaders will strengthen our bond. A huge thank you to these women who take the time out of their busy schedules to get more involved!

*How We Communicate & Connect
We currently use email, Facebook and Strava as our main platforms for communicating. However, most team members also connect through several other social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, etc. All of these tools are evolving, and we are too! We’re always looking for new ways to connect, share stories and keep up with each other - even when we might be separated by many miles.

Yay! I am so excited! Over

Yay! I am so excited! Over the past few months Oiselle and the Oiselle community has inspired, encouraged, and helped me get my life back on track! Oiselle has also reminded me just how much I love running! I am praying I make the cut to join the Volee team on July 31st to become a part of such a wonderful community! Thanks Oiselle!

This is very exciting news...I'd love to be a part of Volée and the Oiselle team! Looking forward to more info soon. Thanks! :)

I'm super excited to see Oiselle willing to add onto their team! I fell in love with Oiselle, first from Fly Style for races and training... And dug deeper to see the unity of women who drive the organization. As a mother, sister, daughter, I saw the importance of community with running! We've started a regional (females only) running club. We all have different types of families and jobs, but we unite over running and the strength that comes from that bond! I would love to spread Oiselle to these ladies and give them a second wind of #runspiration! So proud of Oiselle and all that it stands for!

Excited to see a local bird

I am a runner, cross country and middle distance/distance indoor coach from Plymouth MA. I just completed my second marathon in Lowell MA, (just missed my BQ by 2 minutes with a 3:37:14 finish), and my sister wanted me to run her first half marathon with her two weeks after I raced. I thought she was going to take it easy on me, but as soon as the gun went off, so didn't she, and we ended up running my 1/2 marathon PR pace through the first 8. My legs were still heavy and tired from the full, so at mile 9.5 I let my sis take off and I took my pace down a bit and as soon as I felt a little discouraged, I saw an OISELLE singlet run past me. I was so excited to see a local bird running, and she looked so strong and confident as she flew past me, that I instantly felt a surge of energy and by mile 10 I was pushing through the pain and catching up to my sis, (yes we are training partners and competitive with each other. we push each other to run our best). Seeing that singlet after all the online posts I see got me so excited and helped me sore through the end of the half despite some definite fatigue due to a lack of recovery from the marathon. I did not PR at the race, just a little behind, and my sis beat me by a few seconds, (she ran so strong I was so proud), but that little bird gave me wings for those last 3 miles! I would love to someday become a member of the Volee and inspire someone else!

Looking forward to the next openings! Are there any qualifications other than fast clicking to join the Oiselle community?
