Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
"I can and I will."
Why do you run?
For me, running is therapeutic, a way to decompress after a long day (or before starting one). I'm not the fastest, or the slowest but I know I am not winning any races. It's not about the awards or the accolades. I run to stay healthy, in shape and mentally fit and to better myself.
What is your favorite place to run?
There's a river trail in Rochester that passes a local zoo. Nothing tops an elephant sighting mid-run, except maybe a lion cub sighting.
Running gear you can't live without?
My Garmin watch. I can be a slave to that contraption. I also can't run without a hat.
When you're not running where would we find you?
At my job - I am a reporter at the local newspaper, The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. Or traveling with my husband or tending to my overgrown yard.
What is your favorite post-race treat?
Bagels and chocolate milk: delicious!
Complete the sentence: If I was stranded in a hotel room with one movie and one book, they would be…
I don't think that I could pick just one book as I am a bookworm. But if you leave me lot's of blank paper, I'll just work on my own.
|Workout||An early morning 8-10 miler before heading to work|
|Pump Up Song||I don't actually listen to music when I run: just me and the open road.|
