Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
I use the philosophy of "Pay the Price" in both training and during races. I tell myself to "pay the price" during training to avoid paying the price on race day by being undertrained. I tell myself to "pay the price" during a race to avoid paying the price at the finish line with a disappointing time and place.
Why do you run?
I consider running a way of life and it's made me a stronger, more confident person. I love competing and the satisfaction of achieving a goal, whether it's a new PR or age group placing. I also run because of the incredible people I've met through the sport - some of the kindest, most interesting and welcoming people I've met are fellow runners!
What is your favorite place to run?
The Milwaukee lakefront - one of my favorite routes takes me through two parks, a marina, and a beach.
Running gear you can't live without?
A flashy pair of racing flats, arm warmers, a cute headband and a foam roller.
What is your favorite local running store?
Performance Running Outfitters - They carry the best gear, including Oiselle, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about running shoes, apparel, and accessories.
When you're not running where would we find you?
I'd likely be found trying a new restaurant, baking at home or catching a new movie.
What is your favorite post-race treat?
Pizza or guacamole - sometimes both!
