Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
“The secret is: there is no secret." - @boblesko via Kung Fu Panda via Once a Runner
"Go Hard!" @rislesko
Why do you run?
Running was my life in college: 3 racing seasons/year for 4 years, some great times and team memories (3rd place team at 1987 NCAA XC - oh yeah!); married my sweetheart - speedy track boyfriend.. and then injured for 17years; Literally a couch potato. In 2008 after spectating Amy's Yoder Begley's incredibly gutsy solo 10k Olympic A qualifier at Olympic Trials, I was so crazy fired up that I took two years to get healthy and then found the @oiselle ladies. I can't properly describe how important it has been for me to reconnect with runners, as a runner, and be able to train. I feel more alive than I have for a long time. Now, I appreciate every run and take nothing for granted.
What is your favorite place to run?
Anywhere in the PNW with my buddies. Running in Eugene with @oiselle_sally through my old high school stomping grounds was pretty awesome!
Running gear you can't live without?
When you're not running where would we find you?
Coaching middle school track and XC, chasing my boys around with my Graston instruments, or doing more core so I can oust @oiselle_mac from her abs modeling job.
What is your favorite local running store?
Super Jock and Jill
What is your favorite post-race treat?
Grande soy Earl Grey tea latte and @pickybars. Ok, I have that pre-race too.
