Nickerson State Park, Brewster, MA and the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Why do you run?
I did some running off and on in my 20s but was never very consistent. I started running again to get back in shape after having my kids. I was going for short 3 and 4 mile runs after my husband got home from work. I found it helped me relax after a day with the kiddos. Then, I did my first 5k and it was so slow, but it was awesome crossing the finish line. People were cheering...for me! I love the energy at a race and the instant connection you feel with the other runners.
Running has become something I need to do to feel like myself, to be more focused and to be a happier person. I also run to be a healthy role model for my children, something was not present in my childhood. I simply love running and hope that I will be able to do it for the rest of my life!
Where would we find you when you're not running?
Creating art and playing with my husband and kids: at home, in the yard, in the garden, at the playground, at the library. I'm at the beach and in the water all summer long.
