Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
I absolutely love this quote, courtesy of one of my former JMU teammates:
"When people say to me - 'how do you do so many things?' I often answer them, without meaning to be cruel - 'how do you do so little?' It seems to me that people have a vast potential. Most people can do extraordinary things if they have the confidence or take the risks. Yet most people don't. They sit in front of the telly and treat life as if it goes on forever." - Philip Adams
And, because I’ve had some of my best runs in seemingly bad conditions:

Why do you run?
I run because it keeps my body and mind healthy so I can be at my best, and I love racing and seeing how hard I can push myself on a given day.
What is your favorite post-race meal?
An icy mocha right after a run and a juicy burger and beer after a good race.
Do you have a training philosophy?
Keep things simple. Running is such a beautiful thing in its natural state.
What is your favorite place to run?
The trails at Stinson Beach in Marin County, CA
What is your must-have piece of running gear?
The same model Timex watch I’ve had since high school (I use it on every run except for my easy days)
What animal do you most resemble in your racing and why?
I would probably have to say a chameleon because I am able to easily adapt to changes.
What is your favorite activity, when not running?
Stand-up-paddling, going to the beach, hiking, camping.. anything outdoors.
