Why do you run?
I run because I like to be competitive, I want to be challenged and healthy, and I have a desire to overcome my limitations. I have pretty severe allergy-related asthma that is difficult to control and I have battled with it all of my life. There are times when it really knocks me out (Emergency Room, anyone?) but there are also times when I’ve been able to manage it and push through the limitations that it brings.

What is your favorite place to run?
I was born and raised in Wisconsin (waiting for that “born & raced shirt!) so I just love running through farmlands past cows and cornfields. It always makes me laugh when the cows stare at me while I pass by. Stupid animals.

Running gear you can't live without?

A good sports bra that doesn’t chafe the heck out of me. Right now I’m pretty stuck on my CEP compression socks too.

What is your favorite local running store?
Gazelle Sports all the way!!! I work for this incredible company and love every minute of it. We pride ourselves on providing the world’s best customer care and we work hard in our West Michigan community to pursuit, encourage, and celebrate a healthy lifestyle. We are a Oiselle dealer too!

What is your favorite post-race treat?
Chocolate milk, donuts, ice cream (I have a bit of a sweets problem)

Where would we find you when you're not running?
Working with the youth at my church, teaching my cat tricks (seriously), watching the Detroit Red Wings & Green Bay Packers, mountain biking, triathlon training, skating on our homemade backyard hockey rink by winter and wakeboarding on Gun Lake by summer
