Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
“Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second" - Wiliam James

As a creature of perpetual motion, I am always striving to keep my life and my runs moving a steady and energetic pace. Since I never stop moving, I am always in pursuit of a second wind, and sometimes even a 3rd or a 4th!

Why do you run?
Let me count the reasons...Running is the cornerstone of my social life, my favorite stress management mechanism, and a lovely little reprieve from the rigorous and relentless calendar of events that is work life. I also just can't get enough of how this great sport keeps offering up significant life lessons in goal setting, hard work, self discipline, self-care, self-respect, and perseverance through discomfort and disappointment.

What is your favorite place to run?
The Shut in Ridge/Mountains to Sea Trail in Asheville, NC.

Running gear you can't live without?
My Garmin 310 GPS watch. I am totally that girl running laps around the parking lot until it hits exact mileage that I set out to run.

What is your favorite local running store?
It just so happens that I work at the coolest running store on the planet, Bull City Running Co. in Durham, NC!

When you're not running where would we find you?
Probably working at one of my various health and fitness jobs, but you might catch me eating my weight in fro-yo at my favorite local yogurt shop or sipping a latte while laughing my face off with my favorite running girlfriends.

What is your favorite post-race treat?
The aforementioned latte (non-fat with 2 splendas and a sprinkle of cinnamon) and a delicious frosted sugar cookie from Bean Traders, my favorite Durham coffee shop.

Complete the sentence: If I was stranded in a hotel room with one movie and one book, they would be…
Little Miss Sunshine and Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood.
