What is your favorite quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
"If you wait to do everything until you’re sure it’s right, you’ll probably never do much of anything." - Win Bordon 

I found this quote in UW’s school newspaper in a time where I was a little tentative about training and racing. It challenged me to step out of walking in fear and trust the journey, rather than trying to make everything perfect before venturing forward.

Favorite post-race meal? 
A good burger. Followed by dessert, of course!

What is your must-have piece of running gear?
Roga Shorts. I used to exclusively wear shorts made by a brand that shall not be named, but once the rogas entered my life, there is no turning back. 

Do you have a training philosophy?
Learn from whatever season of life, training, or racing you are in. Wherever you are, there are lessons to be learned and the time that you spend in that season of life is purposeful. It can be so easy to wish away a time of injury or a hard period of training or racing, but don’t get so caught up in doing so that you miss the lessons that are available to you in the meantime.

What is your favorite place to run?
The Upper Deschutes River Trail in Bend, Oregon. There is a place along the trail that opens up to a meadow that I nicknamed the "Hallejulah Meadow". On one side you have the river, rushing by, and on the the other side a giant meadow that extends to the trees with Mount Bachelor towering above.

Why do you run?
Originally, I got into running because once I reached high school my parents gave me a choice: do a sport or get a job. I decided to try Cross Country and Track and slowly fell in love with it. In high school I kept running because I was successful at it, but through that injuries and challenges that I faced in college, God revealed to me how much joy running brings into my life. I have been taught, challenged, and shaped through running in more ways than I could ever have imagined! The friendships and bonds I have formed through running will last a lifetime and I know the journey will only continue!

What is your favorite workout?
On the track: 400m repeats, 1k repeats, or a ladder of some sort. Off the track: mile repeats or hills.

What is your favorite activity, when not running?
Baking. I am not sure that is even a question!
